Food of the Day

Quote  |  Reply

I thought it would be fun to have a topic highlighting top foods for the day:

1. Favorite thing you ate [taste]

2. Best thing you think you ate to help you reach your goals [weight gain, health, and for the ED thing what might have helped you fight that]

Favorite: Hummus and baba ghanoush in my salad OR PB & honey on 12 grain toast

Best for Recovery: Slice of pumpkin bread + SEVERAL handfuls of tortilla chips :)

I thought it would be fun to have a topic highlighting top foods for the day:

1. Favorite thing you ate [taste]

papaya, pineapple, and cantaloupe in yogurt

2. Best thing you think you ate to help you reach your goals [weight gain, health, and for the ED thing what might have helped you fight that]

well it was a drink - banana soy milk - i had about 3 1/2 cups

Favourite taste:

liver and onions and gravy......

best thing that helped youreach your goals:

the first time in recovery I had the tiniest bit of butter on my jacket potato....I almost cried......Tongue out

This was Tuesday, but for taste and recovery: I have a problem with drinking my calories because it feels "wasteful". But then I went to see a friend I haven't seen in a long time and she works at a Shakeaway (takeaway milkshakes). And because they do soya specialties, no excuses for me! So I had an apple lactose-free shake and it was good! And no regrets!

fav taste now let me see, prob has to be the tuna and mayo sandwich i had at the weekend, 1st one ive tryed in months, chocoalate and popcorn, what was i thinking not eating these for all them months

ed= ice cream, ben and jerrys cookie dough is the best so far

lucy

Favorite: chicken sesame noodle bowl for dinner

Best for Recovery: double granola bar (250 calories!) as an evening snack

Best tasting and the best for ED today:

Pierogies!! Potato and onion fillled, 1 serving is 3 of them for 220 cals, I ate 6 covered in oily fried onions. OMG so good. I'm really good at eating way more than a "serving" of pasta like this because I love it so much. I kept eating them beyong getting full because they were too good.

For both:

I ATE APPLE PIE WITH A BUTTERMILK CRUST AND YES I FELT SICK AND FARTY BUT IT WAS GOOD BWAHAHA

Woo!

I am in love with Bakers Delight scones.  They have date scones and berry and white chocolate ones.  So good!

Favorite: Pumpkin oatmeal with a dollop of cottage cheese and pumpkin pie spice for breakfast.  GAHH - amazing!

Best for weight gain: I had bean chili and frito chips for lunch.  Very protein-packed and calorie dense.  Mmm.

Today has just been an all around yummy and cal dense day for me.

breakfast was an fall inspired oatmeal creation with pecans and cranberries and maple syrup cooked in vanilla soymilk. Soo good and prob high calorie too.

snacked on dried papaya also, 3 peices at 140 cals a peice :O!! wow, it freaked me out at first but they tasted good.

for dinner i've made pumpkin gnocchi from scratch, woohoo!! i'm so excited, they'll be in a buttery sage and mushroom sauce too.

i loooooooove food too ! im a recovering ana and want to be a chef also! lol

1.) recently it's been cookie dough! i make it from scratch and eat it! sooo yummy...the full fat butter, milk, sugar, eggs, and chocolate chips. mmmmm. even though i feel pretty sick after, it's totally worth it! lol.

2.) probably drinking my calories. i feel its a bit of a waste but i'be been drinking full fat milk, soda, etc. lately =)

I'm glad this thread was revived.

Today:

Favourite: Marble cake - I used to love this before my ED and finally had it today. I've also realised it is a lot healthier than my ED convinced me it was :)

Best for Recovery: Ben and Jerry's caramel chew chew - again, I've only had this once, before my ED, years ago so I can't wait to have this tonight! It's a lot of calories for a small amount to which is great :)

emma i love marble cake tried to make it once total **** up :)

roast chicken forgot what meat tasted like

probably all the milk if i drink anymore ill need a cow in my garden im desperate to repair my bones and reverse my osteophrosis h x

Neat thread! I don't want to feed into the life revolving around food, but at the same time breaking outside the eating cage of ED also involves exciting food finds and triumphs...

1. Spaghetti squash!  And warm drinks more than ever...I even warm up plain milk and drink it after the coffee time limit.

2. Not really anything major today, but I've been eating calorie heavy cereal by the bowlful [not portion] as is, not densified with Fiber One, Kashi, something airy...

pumpkin oatmeal? sounds amazing!!! how did you make it?

Favorite thing I ate:

Gnu Bar Espresso Chip - its a new flavor and very good.

My morning oatmeal/granola mix, always with lots of dried fruit, bananas, prunes, cinnamon/pumpkin pie spice depending on the other ingredients.

Best thing I ate for ED - Almond Butter, Banana, and Honey Sandwich.  Divine.  Or my oatmeal - always a pleasant and hearty morning.

(taste) PUMPKIN SPICE MUFFINS!

it's been so long since i've allowed myself to eat those types of food, and omg they were so good!

i'd have to say they were the best thing i ate for my recovery as well.

(taste) maple and brown sugar oatmeal with sliced bananas and milk.

(recovery) pb and nutella sandwich!

fav thing was: honey coated popcorn.

for ed recovery: tapanades with olive oil and sundried tomatos on almost everything im eating :)
