Where do I get the food ID number to create an accurate recipe
I have added my own recipes on my profile. I enter an ingrediant and it gives the incorrect nutritonal information based on the brand I am using. I found the correct brand and am trying to enter the id number in my recipe (in brackets) but cannot find the id number anywhere. HELP Please.
It's in the code on your browser's address bar (took me a long time to figure it out myself!)
So, say look up skim milk, when you click on it it looks like this in the address bar: http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/item/1085.ht ml
So you use [1085] in your recipe.
OHHH, thank you so much. I hope my nutrition grade comes up now. I've been getting b's and I know what I'm using is better than what the recipe generates with just a generic description. I'm off to edit recipes.
Be sure you check the list of ingredients, the one with the little flags next to each one. If all the flags are green, you're fine. If any are yellow (orange) or red, you have a problem. Look each one up and make sure it's recording right.
If you have trouble with anything, PM me!
hi...just searching of any help in trying to make my own "recipes"...meals i often make so that i don't have to add each ingredient individually...and i came across ur post....i tried with one of my tagged items (90% of my tagged items i have entered myself so that i could get the proper breakdown in....i couldn't find a lot of what i had....maybe a candian issue?) but it just went to the home page...and no number in the url to be seen.....would you know how to get around that? (when the food has been inputted by the user??)
found it!!! and so simple too!!!

When you tag each of the 6 items above tag them all with the same tag ie. Beef sandwich. Then when you go to log it click on the tag icon (+), not Beef sandwich, on the right of the screen and it will add it all at once.
Nicely done! It only seems tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy.
Thanks for asking this question! I didn't know either, so I haven't used the recipe analyzer much at all.
Remember to look for the ? in the box at the upper right of some pages. This is the Help key. Here's the link to Recipe Analyzer Help
