Isn't it amazing when you are not dieting or eating healthy for that matter, you even myself will say I don't eat that much, then when you write things down and stay within your new calorie budget you are not chewing nearly as often as before?  It amazes me that I sat and said I don't eat that much, compared to now weird.

there was a thread just the other day pointing out those calorie shockers.  those itemas that you ate all or some of the time never realizing how many calories you were truly getting.

It is no wonder we struggle with weight, there is this thing blocking us from reality.

I don't know how much I ate on a bad day but I know it is a lot more than 1200 calories. I mean a lot more.

I know the feeling. I'm very honest with what I write down, so its still ends up a long list. But thinking about something I ate last month for an afternoon snack, would take up half my calorie limit for the day!

On bad days it seems like I'm not just over, I'm waaay over, and its confusing because I just think, how is that I used to eat that all the time... it er wasn't a big deal?

To be honest I find myself chewing much more then before LOL

I normally eat several small meals during the day. Every 2-3 hours unless for some reason I am not feeling well like the other day when I could not make myself eat breaky because I had bad cramps and then made chicken salad for lunch and was shocked at how many calories were in the entire thing after I added it up. I still stayed within my calorie limit but it didn't leave 'wiggle' room :)

But I have to agree before I would not have given the calorie content of the chicken salad I made too much thought. Now I am learning what adds up quickly and what doesn't.

I log everything now even down to my coffee.
