FOOD LOG Suggestion :)
It would be nice if the total number of calories could be shown at the end of each meal section! I'm so tired of trying to add them in my head or pulling up the calculator on my computer! ha ha
Anyone else agree that this would be a nice addition to the FOOD LOG total calories?
I guess I'm a little dense today, Coppertop. Sorry about that. Not sure exactly what you mean. Every time I look at my food log it shows me my total calories. What am I missing here?
She wants the calorie count broken down by meal, which I have also wanted to see. Thanks for the official suggestion!
Ohhhh, I see. Duhh! Told you I was a little dense today.
Doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I only eat two or three items per meal at the most, so it's easy for me to figure out. It's my total daily calories I'm concerned with, not each individual meal. But, if that works for you, then I hope they do it. Good luck!!
When I load a sandwich up with veggies, a little mayo, cheese, meat, etc it starts to get annoying when I look at my log and I can't see right away how many calories I ate at lunch time. It would make it easier when I look at the log at the end of the day to determine if I need to find a way to increase or decrease a meal for future reference.
That would be great, I also would like an option to set how many meals a day.

You can tag all the components as ie, sandwich-lunchmeat or sandwich-tuna then when you go to add the item (and all of components at once), it shows how many calories for lunch.
Or you could use the Food Recipe and create a 'sandwich-lunchmeat' recipe which will show all the calories for the combo.
Hope this helps.
Absolutely! I started a thread on July 13 with the same suggestion and I don't doubt that there were others before who wanted to see the same thing.
OK, those on a 'diet' may not find it useful, but those of us who are eating normally (just watching or slightly reducing the calories) would benefit. My lunch today consisted of 14 entries for 10 different food items, comprising: bread (4 slices) 160g, ham 28g, chicken 30g, Torinesi 3g, Roquefort cheese 30g, white wine 160g, peach 79g, reine claude 30g, water 400g, espresso 30g. It would have been nice to have the 767 kcal sub-total rather than have to work it out (even more so for those days when I have even more items for a particular meal, and every meal is different, with the possible exception of breakfast which might be repeated 2 or 3 times a month).
totally agree.
i've stopped assigning meals to my entries, because there doesn't seem to be much of a point without a calorie subtotal per meal.
If I understood your first paragraph, mischiefdm, I think I'm already doing that and it hasn't been a problem for me. In fact, I enjoy it. Yesterday, I had two open-face albacore salad sandwiches. I just entered 5 oz albacore, 1 tablespoon mayo, 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish, and a small stalk of celery, plus the two slices of bread. It gave me the exact calorie total. Frankly, I enjoy making the entries. Maybe at some point, I'll enter it as a food recipe, but for now, I don't mind making the separate entries.
LOVE CC!!!!!
Sorry, clicked enter twice, so I tried to delete second one. ![]()

It sounds like you entered each item but if you tagged each item as ie, open-face albacore' then you would have a customized tag that contains all 5 items that would be added with one click. this is only useful for repeat menu.
I'm going to try that, mischiefdm. Thanks!!!
That will help, but I still would love to see how many calories are listed at the end of each meal section.
I also agree that number of meals would be a great idea for those of us eating 4-6 mini meals each day!!!
