Food that no longer exists that you wish did :(
When I was young, in the early 80's there was a cereal called Donutz. It was like tiny crunchy powdered donuts. I wish so bad that I had a box of them today, but they quit making them soon after. :(
Is there a food that you miss terribly?
Another vote for Diet Vanilla Coke - can't get it around here anymore.
Also, once I bought (and devoured) a dark chocolate KitKat - the wafers and everything inside was chocolate and it was pure heaven! I've never seen them since!![]()
The dark KitKats were a limited edition thing, which is a shame.
Everybody remembers Jello Pudding Pops but nobody I ever mention them to remembers Jello Gelatin Pops. Same concept, only fruity Jello flavors, kind of a creamy smoothie-like pop. The strawberry flavor was so yummy.
I also second the fond remembrance of the Planters cheese balls in a can. It's a good thing I can't find those anymore because I could easily eat the whole can at once. They're so addictive.
I remember...
3-D Doritos (I wish they'd bring these back!!!)
Crispy M&M's
Pepsi Crystal Clear (vivid memories of the beach come rushing back to me...)
Nestle Flipz (haven't seen these in Ontario in a long time!)
Trix cereal (pretty sure it was discontinued in Canada)
However in Canada, we still have:
Reese's Crunchy PB cups (I had one the other day - mmm)
Bagel Bites
Kinder Eggs (never was a fan, white over powers milk chocolate)
The thing I miss is Schneider's LeanStuffs Chicken Quesadilla. I don't know if they carry these in the States or whatever, but when they had them in Canada, I LOVED them. Sometimes I see them in my Wal-Mart, but very rarely.
I dont know if they still sell them else where. But I use to be IN LOVE with Wendy's Pitas. YUMMMM. Its so sad they dont make them anymore :( or atleast not where I live
I probably shouldn't be such an enabler, but they sell Bagel Bites at Target and BJs.
That being said, I miss Ghostbusters Cereal.
Speaking of Wendy's, for a while when I was a kid they had something called a Super Bar (or something like that).
It was a little buffet style set up, I'm sure the food varied from region to region. But the thing I remember most is your could build your own taco salad with meat and beans and all the fixens. Plus the bestest nacho cheese ever!
Mmm.... Super Bar!! ![]()
They had this Winnie the Pooh kid's cereal that was AMAZING. It had graham cracker shapes in it, and the little oh's were brown and tan. It was soooo good, I could eat it every day! I heard they still had it, but took out the graham bits because it was hard on the teeth? Whatever! It was the best part!
Mrs Grass's Tomato Vegetable Noodle Soup !!!!!!
I was very sad when they stopped selling the jumbo Hershey's cookie and mint chocolate bar.

They probably still make it, but I can never find it anywhere! Crushed Melon Jones Sodas. My husband and I, when we were dating, would go on a search for this flavor. I introduced Jones soda to my husband and we love this flavor. We'd go from store to store until we could find them. Eventually, we stopped searching because we never could find them.
About 10 years ago, Domino's Pizza had "twisty bread." That stuff was amazing. It was thick and soft and a little twisted! They've since replaced it with normal breadsticks that are not nearly as good. Like... they totally lost my business over that one.
Sunbelt used to have a granola bar that I was addicted to. It was caleld "fudged dipped peanut" I think. It was exactly like their fudge dipped coconut but, obviously, with peanuts instead.
VANILLA COKE. :( I miss it with a hot and fiery passion! I find that stuff maybe once, twice a year. I know its still out there somewhere, but why oh why did they stop putting it into machines!?
Snapple clear root beer, it was the only soda I liked when I was a kid and they quit making it....so sad
Ok...so they still make it, but for some reason, I feel like it tastes differently than when I ate it as a child. It's Cracklin' Oat Bran. I remember eating it at my grandma's house. It used to not be as sweet as it is now, I think. Either that, or my taste buds have changed. It used to taste healthier. I used to love that stuff, but now I can do without it.
Baked Doritos, but in the cool ranch instead of the nacho cheese flavor. I was so bummed when they stopped making these.
I miss Mountain Dew, Peppermint Patties and Jolly Ranchers - they're not available in the UK.
.....no wait....I can buy Mountain Dew online in the UK :-)
my GOD i miss diet vanilla coke. That stuff was heavenly. Does anyone know why it was taken off the market? I think I've seen some vanilla pepsi somewhere, but I don't know if it comes in diet vanilla pepsi. Besides, coke is wayyyyyyy better than pepsi lol.
Ahh I have memories of Bugles when i was younger..anyone rememer these? The cone(bugle)-shaped corn chips? I once recently found them at the dollar store..but that's about it :[
& I'm with everyone on the crispy M&Ms, too...and VANILLA COKE! Im in the US but i dont see it thatt often ?
This is such a great thread – so many great (and not so great) trips down food-memory lane here!
- Jello popsicles (I agree with jenmusca that the strawberry ones were the best) and chocolate pudding pops
- Lemon Jolly Ranchers (to be honest, I haven’t eaten them in years, but hearing from someone else that they are gone makes me want them again!)
- Chocolate Malt Ovaltine just got reformulated with a lesser quantity of barley malt extract, so I’m still coping with that
- Trader Joe’s used to have an awesome frozen goat cheese pizza
- I wish Crystal Pepsi was still around just for the novelty. I think I recall finding it too sweet when it was on the market, though.
- Brown and Tan M&Ms. I still have a prejudice against the blue ones ;)
- Snapple mint flavored iced tea (from back when they had the Boston tea party on their bottles)
- Just Right cereals
okay so i'm not crazy! i was talking to someone a couple years ago about the brown and tan m and ms and they didn't believe they existed! they thought i made it all up. they've obviously completely forgotten about them. to tell you the truth, i like the blue ones, but did they absolutely have to get rid of the brown and tan ones?
