Food Tracking Annoyance

Quote  |  Reply

Okay!  I love calorie count, I've lost over 40 lbs since last October.  But I gave up using the web site in December, and after recently promising myself to give it another shot, I've realized that my frustration was with one thing that I would really like to see change if at all possible:

I tend to eat many of the same things in the same amounts from day to day, throughout any given month.  And so I tend to really use the little plus button feature next to various foods on my tracker so that I don't have to re-search for the foods I eat on a regular basis.

However, when it's a new month, all those foods from the month before disappear and I have to either re-search for them all and add them, add them individually from my list of tagged items, or between each food I add to the current month, I have to click all the buttons to show the last month.  I realize it's not a huge waster of time, but it would probably make it easier and less frustrating the simpler it is to track my foods every day - since that is probably what I need help with the most.  I guess the current process just seems slightly tedious.

Is there an easier way that I'm not aware of?  What if the tagged items page involved clicking boxes so that you could select and add multiple items to a day?  Maybe if there could be a way to keep at least 30 days up on the food log no matter what?  So for instance, right now I would like to be able to see July 2 through August 1.

Maybe I'm just missing something.  Can someone help?

use firefox or another tabbed browser, and open each add food window in a new tab (middle click). then go back to the 'month view' page every time you want to add another food. I do that by week usually.

Do you tag them?  Have you ever tagged a group of items so you can log it with one click?  If you already do that and still find it awkward to log what you want, then the problem is duly noted and will be worked on.

If not, we can help you learn to do that.

My food log disappears EVERY DAY! How can I keep the food log going longer, maybe a month as mentioned above?
