Foods you avoid like the PLAGUE!!
Everything I thought I had to avoid I found a low-cal substitute for.
No PB? Try the PB 100 calorie snack cookies.
No Ice Cream? Try Del Monte Real Fruit, no fat popsicles. (at 50 cals each, you can have two!)
It's just finding a suitable alternative.
I was just talking with my roommate about this, earlier today! Some foods that I lose all self-control over:
- Sun Chips
- Homemade chex mix, peanut brittle, oatmeal cookies
- Rice Krispy treats (although now I don't eat them because the marshamallows aren't vegetarian), and Rice Krispy Peanutbutter/Butterscotch Bars
- Ice cream
- Dried pineapple rings from Trader Joe's
I know there are more, but those are the big ones that stick out in my mind right now!
And usually I eat them anyway. :-P
lots of people have said they do substitutions for things they love but are so high in calories but sometimes it's just flat hard. my difficult foods are:
* Coldstone Strawberry Blonde
* any cookie dough or homemade cookies
* dried mangos from Costco
* Strawberry milkshake Whoppers (where's the substitute here?)
* cheddar cheese off the block (mmmmmmmm)
* doughnuts
* movie popcorn
I think about it but it doesn't phase me. *bites apple*
I am a cheese aholic, but unfortunatly I'm sensitive to cow dairy, so usually I use goat milk cheese sparingly and latley I use a gratter and only put .5-1.5oz
When I was young I used to LOVE PB and also Bacon, but I brainwashed myself into not liking them, now I only use them on occasion and sparingly.
Blizzards from Dairy Queen and soft serve ice cream and shakes, I am scared come summer I will give in to temptation like I did last year eating them all the time..
I really like bacon but dont give into to temptation often, same with steak, I love them rare RARE same with prime rib but that is pretty much a NO NO.
I love big baked sweet potatoes with sugar and cinnamon and I will eat tehm without but DAMN I miss the extras.
I can take or leave most cheese, I eat Mozzarella for my diet but I LOVE soft cheeses like brie.
I love the trail mix I make with all kinds of nuts and dried fruit but I save it for when I workout cause I eat too much of it otherwise. I am going to start having some when I am too low on my calories before bed though.
Pie at places like Shari's, I love to have it coffee with lots of milk and sugar.
Rice Krispy treats cause I want the whole pan
it isn't that I can't have these things in moderation, it is that once I start eating them I WANT A LOT of them.
