What foods contain omega 3 & 6?
I have spots on my upper arms, and i've been told its due to lack of omega 3 & 6, i'm vegetarian, so i'm not gonna eat fish oil and thats all i know about @ the moment! Any sugestions??
flaxseeds are good (ground) and you can get fortified eggs if you eat them.
http://www.vegsoc.org/info/omega3.html- this site has some good info.
winter squash, walnuts, soybeans, tofu, flaxeeds, smart balance products?
Google it. There's tons of sites out there with the info that you are looking for. I'm not particularly fond of some of the foods, so I take Omega 3 caplets every day. Hope that helps.
You can definitely get omega 3&6 pills that are vegetarian, if you are looking for supplements. I found lots of choices in my local CVS, and they were clearly marked "vegetarian omega 3."
Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Soya products, including the beans, also contain omega 3/6, to my awareness.
Omega 3s: Fish, Grass-Fed Red Meats, Flaxseeds/Flaxseed Oil, Walnuts, Winter Squash, Krill Oil & Cod Liver Oil
Omega 6s: Eggs, Most Vegetable Oils, Whole Grain Bread, Poultry, Some Cereals, Pumpkin Seeds & Sunflower Seeds
*You need to get a 2:1 balance of omega 3 to omega 6 - sadly, people get WAYY too much omega 6s!
