Foods you don't count in ur calorie target?

Are there any food you eat that you don't count the calories on?

For me I don't count pickles and plain veggies raw or cooked.

Haha!
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one to eat sheets of nori Giasbash! xD

My mom thinks I'm nuts, but they're so tasty Cool

I count everything except for beverages because all I drink is water, unsweetened iced tea or hot tea black.  And like jannid I guesstimate and also like jannid I am happy with my results.

I count everything just as an informative explanation of my nutrition -- as in do I get enough enough of this or that, and the breakdown of my macronutrients.

I don't log herbs/spices (though I'll include them in a recipe analysis if I'm doing one).  I don't log calorie-free or low-calorie drinks like water, tea or Crystal Light (though I do log the milk in tea if I have it).  I don't log gum (but probably only chew one piece every couple of weeks - and I used to be addicted to the stuff).

I think those are the only things I don't log.  I don't leave out veggies - even if they're small amounts - because I like to see how I'm doing on vitamin intake and such so if I left out the veggies, I wouldn't be as happy with those numbers.

Anything exotic that I eat, that doesn't have accurate entries are usually not counted for me...The issue is that if you are traveling to foreign countries (that I do alot) that can happen many times a week.

Other than that I usually dont count Diet Pepsi/Coke and Tea (which I take sugarless, so it can't have many calories anyway)

I count everything as I think it can be a path to self denial if I don't count something and justify it because its low to nil calories, then what about the next item that isn't that many calories.

Nope I track everything, even my 8 cal jelly.

There's actually a large list of things that I don't count.

milk added to tea/coffee, sugar added to tea/coffee, mustard, ketchup, pickles, sips of juice (right out of the bottle, never more than a total of 1 oz), cooking spray, water, gum, lettuce if I'm being lazy/don't have measuring cups/small amount like on a sandwich, etc. Not worth the hassle.

You may be surprised at the amount of calories in 1 oz of juice, especially if it's full sugar.

I log EVERYTHING including water, unsweet tea and black coffee because my logging is twofold.  I try to not only hit my caloric intake for the day but to have an A/B grade on the day.  That's the only way I know how to make sure that I am getting everything that I am supposed to have.

I think that if you want to get a true picture of the balance and nutritional value of your food you should measure and log absolutely everything. If all you are after is a calorie total the just pad your total number a little to account for all the low/no cal items you eat throughout the day.

Exactly!

If I'm going to take the time and effort to log what I eat, it is going to be accurate for an accurate picture. I log right down to teaspoon of vinegar in salad dressing mix and quarter of bell pepper.

I've always been diligent with calorie logging, but my reasons for doing so have changed. I used log everything when I was losing weight to know how much more I could eat for the day, but now that I've met my goal weight I log everything to know what nutrients I need and to determine whether or not to take a multi-vitamin for the day.

I don't log water or dashes of spices, though!

Double post oops.

I don't count hot sauce either.

I don't log black coffee or unsweet tea (which I drink a ton of- tea that is).  I also don't log any spices I cook with or things such as freshly minced garlic.  I determine what is "negligible" and to me it's pretty much common sense.  It's worked for me so far :).

I do not count coffee with milk+sugar calories..

because I use diet sugar..and..donnu..does coffee really have calories ?

It is with creamer,too...darn!

I do not count juice's calories..say strawberry with milk

I think I am crazy Surprised

I dont count gum, water, tea, lettuce/pickles, small amount of veggies on sandwiches, vanilla (since alcohol gives a bad grade), salt and pepper, mustard

I don't bother with herbs/seasonings, I drink a lot of pepsi max and no added sugar squash (slowly going over to very diluted squash as a healthier alternative, before water), which again I don't count as a) I can't be bothered measuring and b) the calories are again, so low it's not worth it. Butter, as I have very little and can't be bothered to weigh it. However I usually end up about 50 calories under target, so anything I don't log in a day will end up there.

Licks of peanut butter, little handfuls of almonds or trail mix, a few veggies with hummus.  For people trying to lose weight not counting these might be problematic, but I'm trying to gain so it's all good :P

Definitely problematic for weight loss as "little handfuls of almonds" could be 130-180 cal
