Are there foods you seriously stock up on?
Other bulk stocked foods:
COTTAGE CHEESE - perishable but I eat so often, get 2 tall tubs at a time
EGGS - long exp dates and convenient to make
SALMON - again money, on sale I split into snack baggies and freeze
BLACK BEANS - takes care of serious hunger moments
PROGRESSO LITE SOUPS - so low cal, can even be a snack
Reason: Released as sticky
Here's what I stock up on:
Crystal light on the go packets - I drink all day so that I get my water in
Garden Harvest toasted chips - yay for crackers with vegetables in them
Instant oatmeal - filling and I can make at work
Canned pineapple - for snack
Frozen stir-fry vegetables - for quick dinner
I drink it by the gallons

COTTAGE CHEESE - perishable but I eat so often, get 2 tall tubs at a time
Yesterday I bought FIVE tubs of cottage cheese. My store has been out of the no salt added kind for a while. So, now that they had it back yesterday, I cleaned out the shelf. HAHA. I can eat 4 before the expiration date (9/4), but i froze the 5th one... we'll see how that works out.
All meat in general. Usually they have good sales on 3 lbs. or more at a time....particularly chicken breast and I love it when I can get those perdue perfect portions...I buy a ton! (not really)
Snack/meal-replacement bars - I buy them in bulk from Costco and I don't eat them often so I have a lot >.<
Kraft Handi-Snak Sugar-Free puddings - They're so tasty! I think I have four packs of four? I've heard that they're delicious frozen so I might try that.
Brothers All Natural Freeze-Dried Crisps - Again, I buy them from Costco so I have a lot.
Actually, come to think of it, I don't think there's much I don't stock up on because we always buy what we can in bulk xD.
coffee. the stuff i buy is normally $15-16/pound, but once in awhile it goes on sale for $10.99 or less. when it does, i buy at least four pounds, which is enough to last me about three months.
i stock up on rice and pasta, because i eat tons of the stuff!!
sugar free jelly
muller light yoghurts
popcorn kernels - coz i can only get them from one supermarket.
baked beans
haha... my fridge and cabinets are the butt of my friends' jokes. I stock up on:
Quick Oats: I buy 9lbs at a time at Sam's Club. Have 1/2c for breakfast everyday and at 150 cals it makes a good snack too
Low Sodium V8: when they have it at Sam's
Waist Watchers soda (calorie free, sodium free, caffiene free and delicious in jell-o!)
Sugar-free Jello in ALL FLAVORS
Progresso Lite Soups (so low cal that I can throw in handfuls of fresh spinach and chopped chicken breast and make a delish meal for <200cal.)
Frozen broccoli: by the pound... seriously: it never goes bad and makes a perfect snack/side/filler
Walmart brand juice powders: 0 cals per serving, and they have pink lemonade... my fav!
Popcorn kernels: I'm addicted to air-popped corn
I always, always have lots of...
Tea bags, different flavors. I make it hot or put 3 bags in a pitcher full of water for sun tea.
Whole wheat pasta. Very filling and lots of fiber for when I THINK I'm really hungry and need something to fill me up.
Stewed tomatoes/Ro-Tel.
Iced teas. Those big bottles of Tejava (micro brewed iced tea) and whatever big jug of diet iced tea is on sale (Turkey Hill at City Market has a good one for about $1!).
Eggs. I hard boil half of them almost right away to eat that way and the rest for cooking, etc.
Milk. Always have lots of milk, ranging from fat free to 2% depending on my mood. My mom works at an organic Jersey cow dairy so I get that free, plus Sunflower Farmer's Market that's within walking distance from my place has local milk in glass bottles that are refundable making the milk less than $2 a gallon (which is awesome considering I've been paying $6-$8 on Horizon Organic for a year).
With my gainer diet at the moment, I have to keep a lot of my favourite foods and staples around. Favourites at the moment are:
Oatmeal. Lots of it.
Brown rice.
Chickpeas.
Nuts - particularly cashews.
Small fish that can be frozen.
Dried fruits - dates and apricots are the regulars right now.
To bring it back to the OP though, I have tons of soy puddings. :D I'm lactose intolerant so these little things are great, and I always get asked questions about what they taste like by cashiers... heh.
I have a pretty consistent diet as to what I eat every day. So I'm big on stocking up when there are sales. I buy obscene amounts of yogurt at a time. Seriously, it's really amusing to see. I also go through a LOT of eggs, so I buy like 3 dozen at a time usually. I also stock up on frozen veggies, & if fresh is onsale, I resist the urge to stock up TOO much unless I'm sure I can get through them before they go bad. That's when the chili/soup gets made haha.
Am I the only one who gets really embarrassed to check out with like 30 items & only 3 different things? haha
Little cans of tuna - excellent for a protein snack or default lunch at work, with some flatbread crackers.
Milk for me too. I buy the 4-litre jugs of skim a couple times a week.
Individual low fat yoghurts by the case.
Frank's hot sauce. It goes with everything and has no calories, apparently.
Big size containers of blueberries (when in season) to put in cottage cheese, salads, cereal and just to munch.
Green tea refreshers. I hate that they have artificial sweetener, but they aren't very sweet and I just don't like swilling water all day.
Skinless, boneless, chicken breasts - wrapped individually in a big freezer bag for the deep freeze.
Tomato soup. Another default lunch with the tuna and/or crackers, or an afternoon snack.
Low fat cottage cheese with pineapple. I eat it every day. I work in a small shop and nobody EVER buys it except me. I think we would have stopped stocking it if I hadn't single-handedly created demand for it.
Food Doctor High-fibre Seeded bagels and pitta breads - again, every day.
Porridge/oatmeal sachets
Protein bars. I should really start bulk buying these coz they are v expensive!
Wholemeal bread
Bananas
Peanut butter. I've been going through a phase of eating a lot of it. But I am trying to gain so I'm allowed ![]()
Whole grain pitas, sweet potatoes, zucchini and squash, pinto, black, kidney, navy beans. Lettuce and tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. Buckwheat pancake mix. Tuna, apples, coffee.
Fiber one cereal! When it's on sale, I buy tons
Oatmeal.. always stocked
Fiber one bars! Again when they're on sale.
I pretty much stock up on things when there's a good sale happenin ;)
I tend to always keep grapes stocked. God I love those little green morsels of deliciousness. They never go bad; I love the way they taste with baby carrots, another thing I like to stock.
Also I stock up on bags of Goya black beans and red beans. That way I can always throw in some long grain wild rice and red beans with some Adobo and have instant red beans and rice.
What else...
Claussen Pickles (whole), good snack if my sodium intake is low for the day. A lot of the stuff I buy is perishable so I can't exactly say I HORDE it but I do try to stock up on plentiful produce so I always have some fruits for snacking
smart dog veggie dogs
quorn naked cutlets
kashi GO LEAN!
low carb tortillas
nature's own light honey wheat
diet dr. pepper
low cal soup
used to stock up on ocean spray like MAD!, then decided it was a waste of cal

Wow! This describes our whole pantry... lol.
In my house, we always have:
huge apples-we buy at least 6 for the week
yogurt-they are everywhere on the shelves in our fridge
pretzels/smart pop popcorn-hey, we like to snack![]()
chicken breasts-woohoo for lean protein!
oatmeal-i could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Yoplait 99% fat free yogurt - YUM
Fresh Veggies - Yellow Squash, Zucchini, Red, Yellow, and Green Bell Peppers, I grill/saute these at least twice a week if not more. I also buy them cheaper at a local farmer's market, which also keeps our local economy going :) I seriously have a whole shelf of our fridge dedicated to it.
Fresh Fruits - Right now, it's cantaloupe and fresh peaches
Bisquick - May not be the healthiest thing but when I want to beef up a dinner quickly I just add a few biscuits or pancakes and I'm done. We often have company (my husbands nerdy friends) so it makes a quick and large meal for them with minimal work for me.
Frozen Strawberries - Just plain strawberries, no sugar or bad stuff added. I use it to make smoothies with ice cubes and pomegranate juice. I like it better as an icy. I'm not really into adding yogurt to mine but it's a good idea.
Last but not least - Walmart brand Crystal Light. It's cheaper, tastes similar, and is just as good as the other stuff. At work I brought a pitcher and I make it every morning and drink it down throughout the day. It's a staple. Someone else listed it as well, so congrats for that!
