I'm an actor so I need lots of energy. I'm 5'5" and about 126 pounds, which is considered a healthy weight; however, the camera adds 10 pounds so my agent told me to lose some weight and get healthier to keep up the competitiveness. I need help getting slim fast as I have auditions every week, but to do it in a way that it will stay off and give me enough energy during the day. What snack foods are good? I'm always on the go. My goal is 110-115 pounds. That's healthy right?
Answer
Do not weigh less than 112 pounds at 5'5". Lose weight slowly while exercising to preserve your muscle. You, personally, need 1350 calories a day with 170 grams of carbohydrate, 85 grams of protein, and 35 grams of fat. Eat foods from every food group, but chose minimally processed foods like whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as proteins with very little fat such as skim milk and yogurt, egg whites, turkey breast, and non-fatty fish. To maintain your energy, eat a mini-meal every three hours or so and always include carbohydrates from grains, fruit and/or milk. For example, eat half a turkey sandwich with vegetables on whole wheat or whole grain cereal with fruit and skim milk. In addition, get 30+ minutes of cardio-type exercise everyday and strength-train to keep your muscles toned.
