haha good one.
When I read the title, I immediatly though of pickles, but since it has already been said...
How about soy sauce? It has a low sodium version but it's still high in salt.
There's salt substitutes! And they taste pretty similar!
For a soy sauce, try "Bragg's Liquid Aminos". It's available around here at local grocery stores, although sometimes it's in the "organic/health food" section rather than with the soy sauces. It still comes from soybeans, but it's relatively low sodium (100mg of sodium per 1/2 tsp serving).
I started using it because it's gluten free, and many of the soy sauces are not. But I like it better than regular soy sauce, personally.

Try Eden Organics brand. They come in no-salt added varieties.

eden oraganics salt-free spaghetti sauce is a total life-saver for me.
Can soup. I know there are a few but they taste just like water so with some better flavor.
Chinese food and other restaurants as well
Some cheese
Deli meat
Triscuits thins. The regular ones come in low-sodium, but the thins do not.
Also Stoned Wheat crackers...the regular ones come in low-sodium, but the whole-grain ones do not.
Why don't they just make low-sodium the norm?? Why must it be a specialty variety? Drives me nuts.
Soy sauce. It's been said, but I love it and I would use a lot more if it were not so salty. I buy the low-sodium kind but it still has 600mg per tablespoon, which is crazy if you ask me.
Feta cheese. I know the salty brine is what makes it so good but if there were some way to cut down on the sodium a little I would eat it a lot more often probobly. On second thought, maybe that wouldn't be a good thing. Hahah.
Canned things; soups, refried beans, sauces, etc. I buy all organic versions but they are still higher than I'd like.
I used to wish for lower-sodium bread, tomato sauce, meats, salsa, etc. but I've pretty much found brands for all those categories that have very little or no added salt.

Ugg! The last salt substitute tasted like ammonia to me. I'd rather do without. ![]()
Instant jello-o pudding and jell-o. Oh, and pickeled anything.

You had me at hello.
Where? What name? Tell me!!!
(I actually hate salt, except for on cucumber.... which I tend to go overboard, at least when I allowed myself salt anyways)
hot dogs
butter that tasted GOOD
ranch dressing (not low fat... that tastes like runny sour cream.)
Marmite! hmmmmmmmm love it! ![]()
special k satisfaction takes up 16% of your daily sodium allotment per serving.. ridiculous :|
Frozen veggie burgers like Boca and Mornigstar
And the sandwiches from Panera Bread. They REALLY go overboard. I can't even eat there anoymore, their stuff is so salty. 1290 mg in their tomato mozzarella panini!?!
I think the amount of sodium in most cereals is ridiculous. I think my dad gets his daily sodium requirement from Raisin Bran alone! (I deal with this by just being very picky about my cereals.)
I am forever grateful for no-salt-added canned tomatoes - and they taste the same too!
I'd like to see them reduce the salt in my Bits and Bites. They do have a reduced sodium version, but the other flavours could easily handle having less salt too.
And I agree about the canned soup - though I know, at least in Canada, they're working on it. I remember hearing a spot on the news a few years ago saying that it was going to take them 20 years of slowly reducing the sodium in stuff to get Canadians down to healthy sodium intake levels. They've tried doing it faster in the past - and nobody buys the low-sodium stuff because it tastes 'wrong'. They seem to be sticking to their word, though, because every new iteration of Campbell's (or whoever's) soup has about 50 mg less sodium per serving than the last one.
Bisquick!!! :(
