I don't understand why people like salt so much...
My doctor told me to eat MORE salt because my blood pressure was so low, I nearly gagged. I HATE SALT!!
I mean I like sauerkraut (once I rinse it a good 10 times), and I can stand a pickle or two every once in a while... but salt and vinegar chips?? YUCK whose bright idea for a flavor was that?
The only time I eat salt is when I can't actually taste it; it's basically in the food to enhance flavor but not so much that you can distinguish the salty taste.
Which is kinda bad considering I "need" more salt...
but for you people who fear salt, why? It's not bad for you unless you eat too much or have high blood pressure. Just drink more water to flush it out and counter it's effects, and use more spices in place of it.
you NEED some sodium beleive it or not, to balance bodily fluid levels and keep blood pressure steady (not too low or too high)
natural salts like sea salt also contain minerals that are good for you, however most mass produced products use just regular refined table salt so you dont get the benefits unless you grind your own!!
I don't watch my sodium.... it's pretty bad, I add so much salt to EVERYTHING... but I do have extremely low blood pressure and I drink a lot of water to flush things out... but every so often I am pledged with the dreaded excess bloat from salt... but I am willing to take my chances! ha ha. Salt + ME = Perfect Relationship! ha ha.

I use fresh ground sea salt (also called kosher salt) instead of the regular kind. It's more flavorful & therefore I use way less. I have a salt grinder & a pepper grinder. Much tastier & healthier too. My mom gave me the idea. She's 100% Italian & cooks all the time.
Batchelor's Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup (in UK) has just over 4.5 grams of salt! (about 1800mg sodium) More than I generally eat in a day.
Quorn foods and soup should have less salt in ![]()
I don't necessarily 'like' salt or crave it, but it likes to get into my food at times. I don't eat soup often, but think I would if it wasn't full of salt.
I'd have to say condiments and crackers. I'd love a lower sodium mayonnaise, or mustard. At least you can get no salt added catsup and it's quite good.
I found unsalted sourdough pretzels, but they have salt in them, just not on them. Same with saltine crackers.
veggie burgers...ugh i gain like 2 lbs after eating them because of water retention.
BLEGH!
I agree on the pickles.
