Forcing myself to eat when sick
I've caught a cold. I barely ate anything today. If I finish everything I said I would eat I would end up at 1097. However, I'm just staring at my dinner and I want to put it away half eaten. My daily calorie intake is around 1550 so this would be a huge shake up for me. Should I eat what I have left? Should I just put the rest in the fridge and call it a day? Or should I force myself to the full 1550? Keep in mind that I'm trying to lose weight.
I don't necessarily think you should force yourself to eat if you're feeling ill. I'm sure other people will disagree with me. I know on days when I start my period, I feel sick and cannot eat very much. I would feel worse if I ate a ton, so I just let it go. Just make sure the food that you do eat when you're sick is full of vitamins. And keep your blood sugar up so you don't feel weak.
If it's just for a day or two and you're not substituting junk for food, then I wouldn't worry about it (unless you have an eating disorder in which case, please check with your doctor). Perhaps have a small snack later or some soup.
I'm eating light soup and drinking vitamin C fruit smoothies. I decided not to finish it and just go to bed. Goodnight all!
