Former athlete, looking to regain former self...

Hello all.  I am 35 year old re-married father of 2 girls, who has reached a crossroads in his life.  I have hit a point, where it's time for me to take my life back.

Just ten years ago, I was a competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter, fresh off a very successful college football career.  But, once I became a father, and a college graduate with a desk job, it seems I lost my way.

Moving ahead ten years, I have the most amazing 9 year old daughter from my first marriage, a new wife, who is my best friend, and an angel in a 7 month old baby girl.

I've come to realize, I know too much about health and fitness, and proper diet, to live like this another day.  So, I went back to school, so to speak.  I am re-learning all the things that made me what I was, so I can be him again.

I plan to post here in a regular basis, not only my own story, as I go through this(because I think it will be very theraputic), but I also want to be a source of information for anyone who wants to listen(suprise i tend to be long winded).

This seems like a great site, and a great community, and I am very happy to be a part of it, and I am completely motivated to fixing what I broke.

Wishing you the best of luck in meeting your objectives.   If you know what makes a healthy lifestyle and if you're motivated you've got a head start over some!   Sometimes just small improvements made consistently are the ones that work best. Take it steady, keep your eye on the prize and have lots of fun.

WOW, Curt. Your life seems amazing and I am so happy that your family is prospering. You will receive much support on this site and I look forward to your words of wisdom as well.  Good luck on reaching your goals, as you seem well on you way.

Don't worry about being long winded...a lot of us areWink.  - Wanda

Sounds great.  One thing that helps keep me motivated, in my own changes, is helping others.  Never hesitate to ask anything.

Bump since I am in essence starting over...
