Forty, Fat and Fed up, checking in!
Hi! It was two weeks yesterday since I started here at CC. Wednesday (Hump Day) is my weigh-in day. I refuse to do that DAILY weigh and pray! I am happy to say that I am down 5.5 pounds!!
I can hardly believe it but the scales don't lie; I have a really good Curves digital scale ($80 Can. from Avon). Thanks so much to everyone that posts their triumphs and their miseries. It has kept me going, despite my doubts and fears. This is just the best website!!! Heres to another 5 lbs on the 30th! Or 3 lbs or even 2lbs, as long as its down and not up- I'll be happy.
I have become a calorie counting fanatic! I need 2200 calories per day to maintain and the site recommends I eat 1750 per day to reach my goal , but I usually finish the day somewhere between 1300 and 1500 calories.
I have discovered that prawns, which I love, have almost no calories, egg whites are delicious and ridiculously low in calories, chicken breast stir fry, with 1/2 cup of diced chicken and lots of veggies cooked with Pam cooking spray and lots of fresh garlic adds up to about 300 calories for a huge heaping plate. I eat rice cakes all day long, and nibble sunflower seeds and apple slices. I actually have a hard time getting enough calories per day eating like this. I feel better; have so much more energy and feel less *heavy* than before. I also use a diuretic (water pill) prescribed by my doctor for a heart condition which prevents me from retaining water. Also I drink tons of water and go easy on salt.
Interesting note- I haven't even touched the margarine tub in two weeks, I discovered I don't need it for anything!
I too am 40-ish, fat, and fed up !!
GREAT WORK !! It's all about Attitude and YOU'VE GOT IT !! and I DO TOO !!
Those pounds WILL come OFF !!
/g.
Yea for you! You are doing great in building your foundation for a healthy rest of your life.
I chuckled at the comment about getting enough calories. I didn't think that it would be possible to live within the prescribed amount when I started on here a couple weeks ago, but it's SO true that you end up needing cals at the end of day when you are eating healthy foods! :)
