What the $^&%@#?!!

Quote  |  Reply

So this past weekend, I did everything right- ate within my limit (1300-1600) eating back some calories for exercise, and doing a lot of extra exercise. I practically drowned myself with drinking water (well...had 8-10 glasses each day), and avoided sodium like the plague.

This morning when I got up and weighed myself- I'm up by 2lbs! What?! How?! Argh!!!

So now I'm sitting here eating a slice of leftover pizza (because I didn't let myself have any last night, because it would have blown the day's calories), and hoping that someone, somewhere could maybe explain to me what is going on. Is my scale just jealous because I've lost weight?

I would say that the extra exercise is probably the culprit -- muscles holding water to help repair efforts.  Read this article -- might help you understand a little better.

I was going to say the same thing... It is water.. when you weigh tomorrow you should be back down...

IT'S WATER...EVERY LAST "POUND" OF IT.

trust me.  the same thing happened to me last week and I wanted to cry all the pounds off.

this week, not only did i lose the 2 pounds of water, but another 2 pounds that i was supposed to lose this week.

and you think you're really avoiding sodium?  hehe! it's in everything.  even in water!!

This past week I went from 182 to 183 and then all the way down to 179 in just a couple of days. Today I'm back up to 181.

This idea of losing weight needs to be fixed. Healthy weight is better than losing it. Gaining muscle and water weight is fine. This of losing inches or toning. Feeling better and being stronger and more fit is always better than losing 2 pounds. I have found that I can fluctuate around  pounds depending on what I eat and drink.
