since i'm a klutz, my life is full of these moments:
i was straightening my hair this morning, and i burnt my forehead. i had it set to the highest heat it would go to, so it hurt pretty bad. /: i jumped backwards, dropped my straightener on the floor, and tripped over a towel. i landed in the bathtub and hit my head on the little thing you set shampoo and stuff on. my hand and knee bent in a way that i didn't know was possible. then i noticed that my back and butt were all wet. my brother had just taken a shower like 10 minutes before my little episode, so i was soaked. oh, and my brand new straightener is broken. man. i bet the look on my face was priceless.
do these kinds of things happen to anyone else? or is it just me that luck hates? haha.
I've fallen down flights of stairs and bruised my arse multiple times >_<.
One time, it was snowing so badly that our school had an early dismissal. There was snow all over the flight of stairs outside the school going down to the buses. As I was going down, I slipped and fell in front of everyone >_<. To make matters worse, I was having trouble getting up as well. So embarrassing.
it is NOT just you... i trip over imagined cracks in the sidewalk.
But I do have to say... best laugh I have had all day! Thanks!
Ahh the "Your mother should have named you Grace." Syndrom. Thats what I heard my whole life from my mother. "I should have named you Grace. Then maybe you would have some. " LOL I have fallen up stairs, down stairs, slipped on the kitchen floor when it wasn't wet or greasy. My favorite one though was walking up the stairs, leaning against the hand rail so I could open the screen door only to have same said hand rail give way and find myself laying in the middle of the trash cans two feet below where I just was. Thats always a blast.
I have found that when your day starts out that way, its best to just go back to bed. It only gets worse from there. If it happens in the middle of my day then little things like accidently bumping the coffee table and leaving a bruise on my chin the size of a golf ball, then someone or thing in the universe is trying to tell me something. If I don't catch on, and start paying closer attention then something bad will happen.
The falling off the porch thing came after a day of, breaking a heel, falling down three stairs, nearly ripping my dress off as I stepped on the heel and fell upstairs oh and my favorite, getting hit in the head by a flying softball, I didn't see. That was a really bad day. Mom might have called them my grace days. I called them No good rotten very bad days, I think Ill move to Austraila with Alexander days. :)

:O i do this too, your walking and you trip, you look back and the pavement is level... its mocking us ![]()
one time i ran into a pole and gave myself a concussion. a couple months ago i hit myself in the face with my locker door and gave myself a nosebleed. my mom took me to the doctor to make sure i hadn't given myself another head injury, and the nurses, doctor, and office person all laughed at me and told me that everyone has stupid moments O:
one time i tripped over the toilet and crashed into the bathtub. what is it with me and bathtubs? haha.
However, here is the story that gets voted as my most stupid moment:
I had just moved into my house and everything was still in boxes and realized that the air conditioner wasn't coming on. So I called my dad and he told me I needed to go into the attic...and blah, blah, blah...
Anyway, I couldn't find a flashlight so I used one of those lighters used for lighting candles. After using the lighter and solving the problem, I was going back down the attic stairs and realized I needed both hands...so I stuck the lighter in the waistband of my PJ Bottoms....yep, I wasn't wearing underwear...got a burn on my A$$ the size of 1/2 dollar. Took weeks to heal!!! LOL....that's a Darwin Moment there :)
it ended with me falling off the front steps, everything in my arms flying everywhere, and my dog standing there looking shocked. he didn't even try to run off! i so should have broken my arm, but luckily i hobbled away with scrapes and bruises.
the friend i had been on the phone with heard a scream and then silence. she thought i'd been hit by a car!
i tried to blame it on the broken step.....
and rdgate, i just laughed out loud at that because that is SO something i would do!
I fell down in front of a grocery store when I was pregnant and I got stuck in my coat and couldn't get up. Being the total dork that I am, I found the whole thing so funny that I also leaked a little while laughing so hard I couldn't get my breath. My husband was mortified.
My son is tripping in my footsteps. We are practically on a first name basis with the ER staff. We didn't even make it a full week into summer vacation before he had to have his head glued back together.

.
Ha! My name is not Grace but that is exactly what my father always called me when I:
- tried to walk thru the doorway and ran into the door jam - at least once a day
- tripped and fell on a perfectly flat, clean floor
- go to sit and miss the chair
- try to walk up (or down) the steps and miss.
and many other unexplained little mishaps.
At work - (L shaped desk) open the desk drawer, turn away from it, forget it is open, then stand up, turn around and run right into it. OUCH!!
Every time I do something like this, I can hear him say it again: "Way to go Grace!" (Good thing he's in another state these days!)
Unfortunately, I still do these things. I think my brain gets distracted - or bored and wants to liven things up!
i was brushing my hair like 10 minutes ago, and i opened the drawer to put my brush inside it. i looked down at the open drawer, looked in the mirror one last time, then tried to walk out the door. i knocked the drawer out of the cabinet thing. whoops....
i didnt think i was that bad but i can relate to most of your stories (well some of them) i always walk into things (the glass door for instance
) this was going to be longer but I just heard something and now i cant type.

I do this all the time! As a result I have a permanently bruised knee.
I tripped over a sidewalk curb and damn near knocked an old lady over. I laughed it off but she was soo freaked out.
Oh I also walked in to a parking meter.

This reminds me a bit of when I was a kid my friend and I used to do flips on the monkey bars (lay across the top, perpendicular, like a t, then grab the bars underneath and flip over the edge), well we had our moments of our hands slipping (especially when we tried it one handed) and resulted in getting the wind knocked out of us.
I wouldn't say I'm extremely clumsy, I tend to hurt other people around me instead lol.

I fall up the stairs in front of very attractive men. And I ususally have a dress on.
I seem to be a big fan of that as well. It's a common joke in my house about what a huge klutz I am. I'm always falling, tripping, running into something or hurting myself. I'm worse than a baby learning to walk.
I used to work in a car dealership which is all tile. Everyone could hear my heels coming a mile a way. Being a bunch of pig men, of course they'd look up. Anyway I was coming down the center staircase, right in the middle of the dealership in my little skirt/suit. What happened? You guessed!
I tumbled down half the flight of stairs.
Of course I'm totally used to it so I didn't get hurt but I was so embarrassed at the time I wished my neck had snapped
Ha! My better half is like this, I usually end up catching her. Well, she can't even walk straight so.. yea.
