Hi! I am a full time student, and work about 24 hours per week. I am looking to lose 20-40 pounds...and I have been counting calories and exercising as well! The hardest thing for me is cutting down on Latte's...I LOVE my coffee! What is hard for you? :)

Hi!
I'm not a student, but I work full time (sometimes more...) and I'm hoping to lose 25 lbs. I'm a really an emotional eater, and the stress of a busy work week only exacerbates my unhealthy eating habits. I've gained and lost the same 5-10 pounds countless times over the past year. How do you stay on track? I find I can keep up my healthy routine for a few weeks before my bad habits sneak up on me.
Hey, I'm 22, going into my last couple terms in English and writing, I work for the school newspaper and Subway and other extra-curriculars. I always use how busy I am as an excuse to not go to the gym or eat bad. The: "I've had a long hard day I deserve to eat the entire cheesecake." lol
I'm looking to lose around 35 pounds by May. I've alread lost 4 since I started CC on the 12th, so I'm feeling pretty good, but school has yet to start....
.
I'm 5'4, 217 lbs. (heaviest at 225). Right now my goal is to lose to about 150, and then I'll re-evaluate my weight loss. But 150 is going to be enough of a challenge for me right now that I'm not even thinking about anything afterwards.
Snacking during exams is the worst. When I study, jelly beans are my worst enemy. they're just so easy to pop into your mouth, and they taste sooo good.
When do you guys start back at school? I'm back on Tuesday, and dreading it. This summer was just way too short for my liking...
Hello everyone. I'm a 29 year old, single mother to two kids, full time student, and I work 16 hours a week.
In 2004 I was at 220 pounds and ended up at 145 pounds. I felt good, and looked good. A couple years later I quit smoking, then I moved to Massachusetts away from my friends and family, started school.....etc etc. Long story short.....I gained a lot back. I am at 185 and trying my hardest to loose it.
I swear it was easier the first time, but I was also going through my divorce at that time....so that may have contributed to my weight loss. I am currently on two different anti-depressants which I think have helped contribute to the gain and difficulty loosing.
Hi everyone, and thanks bebe4549 for starting this!
I'm 28 and weigh about 190lbs right now. I've been steadily gaining a few pounds a year over the last few years, and it's mostly down to poor food choices and lack of portion control. I would like to lose about 45lbs.
I work two jobs, and like others, I'm an emotional eater. When I'm under stress or unhappy, I tend to eat more and make poorer food choices, going for convenient fast food that's also really unhealthy. My biggest challenge is to implement portion control.
bebe, I know what you mean about the motivation to work out. I get home after a long day and my immediate urge is to just veg out. I've discovered that it really helps to pack my gym bag before I leave in the morning. Then, when I get back, I just pick up the bag and leave the house right away - I try not to give myself the time or opportunity to make excuses or create reasons not to go. I find that the longer I wait to leave for the gym, the less likely I am to follow through.
amjam, I know exactly what you mean - staying on track is tough. When I fall off the wagon, I try to get back on my plan as quickly as possible and I write down what I've learned from my lapse and what I can do to prevent it from happening again. It's tough!
How do you guys resist the urge to buy food that you know just isn't good for you? I really struggle with this...
I'll be 25 in about a week and have been a student for my whole life. I'm almost finished my Masters (hoping to be done final revisions of my thesis by the end of this week!!) and will be starting full time work soon. When I first started university 7 years ago I dropped from 220ish to about 170 without much effort... combination of walking a lot to classes and not liking any food in the cafeteria except salads I guess. Over the next year or so I worked my way down to my lowest of 155 (many ups and downs during that time). I've recently put weight back on and am now 172 pounds (at 5'8''). My goal weight is 125 (I'll see how I feel at 135 and go from there) and since CC made me choose a goal date I put Dec. 31st although I'm not sure whether that will happen or not. I had signed up for CC in the past but never really logged my progress on here since I was doing it in my own journal. I think I'll still keep my old food diary but will keep track of my weight loss on here and use the forums as a source of motivation, which I am severely lacking!

So school is starting back up and I was wondering what your guys' routines were. I'm really going to try to schedule my days making sure I get a workout in at least 5 days, alternating strength and cardio. But it's always so hard for me to make time. I know I should do it in the morning, but I can never seem to make myself get up? What do you all do?
