Hey, I know what you're going through.  But you're insanely skinny!  Your BMI is 18.1 and that's underweight!  I know that that might not change anything but believe me, I wouldn't lie to you.  I don't know what else to say right now; I am an adolescent.  But here are some words of encouragement:

You're beautiful.

You're thin.

You're amazing in every single way.

Stay strong and try to live your life to the fullest!

Love,

Mag

Hi Chocoholic,

well, at 110-112 lbs or so you have a BMO of just under 18. Which as I guess you know is a bit low.  How we feel about our bodies is all relative! We tend to only see the changes. So while I am barely at a healthy weight I feel amazed because all my clothes are now too big, and I look so different.

You, who could weight up to 155 lbs (fainted yet?) and still be a healthy weight, feel fat if you see a few lbs come on. Relax, You have a lot of leeway, a lot of room to try not counting your calories, before you get fat.

But you have probably realized that it is not the actual numbers on the scale which is the problem, but the obsessing over it.

Try just keeping a log of what you eat, and don't look up the calories till later, give yourself a chance to live without planning it too much.

And maybe try to give yourself a higher weight limit - say at least 118 and stay at that weight for a while until you get used to looking at yourself at that weight.

Good luck,

Lalie

Hello! I am 5 “ 5 and 110 - 113 and my BMI is almost 19

I used to eat a little less but burn more calories in the gym and my weight fell to close to about 103 lbs and I was preoccupied with food because I was not eating enough

I have also had ED’S , so I know what it feels like to fear weight gain, so I had to keep telling myself that my happy ness was more important then fearing weight gain I had to change my desire to look and feel a certain way on the outside, to the desire to be as HEALHY as possible could, which in turn, will also make you LOOK the best that you can!

Remember, having healthy glowing clear skin, nice healthy hair, clear white eyes, and healthy nails are all signs of physical beauty JUST AS MUCH as being slim is! You sound like you have a fear inside of you that wants to control your weight at your current level, regardless weather it is the healthiest natural weight for you

I reached a healthier weight by starting to eat sensible recommendations of calories/carbohydrates/protein/fat that websites like THIS ONE recommended, and then I made changes and fine tuned things, but the most IMPORTANT thing I did was to just make sure I was eating ENOUGH!

You need to find the right amount of calories FOR YOU. This is going to take trial and error, the ONLY way you will EVER work out what is best for you, is by trying things out to see how your body responds, and keep what works and change what does not.

The best thing you can do to determine how many calories you need to reach your healthiest weight is to start off eating to a sensible set of guidelines that THIS SITE will give you , based on your age/height/weight/and activity level.

Start out like this, and asses how you feel. If you crave sugar, you may need to increase your carbohydrate intake; if you dream about binging on peanut butter you may need more protein and/or fats in your diet, and less carbohydrates. It is an ON GOING process - you need to try and see what works.

So try to eat AT LEAST the amount of calories this website tells you to eat - it is a good STARTING point, and you can change things if you need to.

Well done for having the courage to make the first steps to facing your fear - you are a scared of gaining weight but you know it might be best for you.

If you are thinking about food and you envy your friends relationship and carefree attitude to food, then you sound like you are either restricting your calories and/or forcing yourself to go without foods you enjoy ALL the time

RELAX! - your body IS NOT AGAINST YOU! It will NOT turn into a fat gaining machine the second a piece of pizza touches your lips! Some people even restrict HEALTHY foods they love like oatmeal and bread because they fear these foods

There is nothing wrong with planning meals a day or 2 in advance, I do this to make sure I eat enough calories and a good % of carbohydrates/proteins/fats , but it is NOT normal OR healthy to plan things with the INTENTION OF CONTROL you weight

Plan your meals to ensure your meeting the calorie requirements! And aim to get a feel of what the right amount is, so they you can have a few days off now and again There is lots more that I have been through that might be relevant to you so feel free to ask any questions
