every. single. day.

this place keeps me sane!

this place, and knowing that once i get my year end bonus, i am going to start school to help me pursue my dream and get me OUT of here!

its not the corporateness of it so much as the lack of time I have. I rush in early to go to the gym, after dropping kid off at sitter, rush from work to get the boy and make dinner and do a little cleaning (okay that is a lie, I don't clean during the week) chat with hubby for a bit and then bedtime routines.

My life is gone, if i have a weekend off from cleaning then I have laundry every night of the week.

Its grueling. But there's no other way to make it. It IS KILLING ME YES.

uhm YES!

Wholly crap crazydiamondchrysalis! Someone needs a vacation like NOW LOL

Corporate hell! I would definately say working for Bear Stearns and now JPMorgan I have hit the end of the line with insanity in this place. I can't tolerate the politics and I definately cannot have enough vacation time to allow to fully rejuvenate.

I can honestly tell you that working out and boxing regularly makes me run out of the office everyday rather than stay until 8-9pm at night (last week I was actually here until 11pm and when I got home I worked out for a meesly 45min)

It feels good to punch something and not stare at spreadsheets all day

ah, but breakbeat, my car is broken and hubby needs truck so I can't go to the beach in florida this weekend.

I. need. to. stab.

Like mentally just killing you?  S l o w l y?  Like you are glad to have a job, obviously, because it would be awful not to have one - so YES, I do count my blessings for that.  Nonetheless, the 4 walls of the office are sucking out what is left of my brain!!  AHH!  Ever feel like you are just waiting for 5pm EVERY DAY?

Ditto!!!  Every single word.  If I didn't have running, yoga and other working out in my life I think I would have blown my brains out by now.  I so want to be doing something to help others instead making MORE money for my company. :( and Jules  BIG congrats for moving yourself forward!  You will NEVER regret it.

 Make me!

no. It's a job, therefore it has no access to my internal life. It pays the bills.

LMAO - you think i'm so poorly strategized that I have only one thing in my arsenal?

Go ahead - the monkeys are the bottom of the totem pole. :P

yes. for me I actually do enjoy the work that I do. There's just too much of it. and there's always the "impending doom" of possible layoffs. And the hoops I have to jump thru to get my job done, because I am at a huge company. And I have been at this company 9 years (not in the same job that time) so I feel some burnout too....

I love my boss, I love the kind of work that I do. I don't love corporate america. I do think I am well-paid. If I didn't have a family to support, that relies on me because I make more than my sig other, I would probably look for a less stressful job. But that's not an option... I am hopeful the stress level will get better. But the past ~6-12 months has been so full of stress at work and it's really got me down.

Good thing the rest of my life is totally AWESOME!! For real.

I hear you completely!!  I spent the day fantasizing about different ways I could "off" the new lawyer -- I have worked there 18 yrs, she has been there 8 months but I apparently don't know anything (I'm a lowly legal assistant).

It's a good thing I didn't have access to anything more dangerous than my stapler today Wink

*is curious what tinaek came up with*

I never thought - I probably could have stapled her to death if I had enough staples.  LOL

First I thought about cutting the brake line on her car, but alas, I have no idea where the brake line even is.

Then I thought about putting rat poison in the office coffee pot, but I didn't really want to end up killing my boss and thereby cut off my source of income.

Thought about cutting her phone line and jimmying her office door so that it locked and she couldn't get out and she would starve to death (I'm not the only one that wouldn't go looking for her) but her head is so big she could live off of it for years.

Electricution would be satisfying, but too quick....she needs to suffer.

Thought about asking if I could borrow her scissors and if she would bring them to my desk because it was an emergency, and then putting wire across the door so she trips and lands on them...but that's too messy, they would have to replace the carpet and that would cost too much money, lowering the chance I would get a decent raise this year.

And then, by the end of the day, I was to the point I thought a good old fashioned strangling would be good enough!!  Tongue out

OH GOD YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My job is absolutely BRAIN NUMBING.  My whole being is atrophying ... my @ss is welded to a typing chair.  I am so not a typist.  Well, I am a typist but not a career one.  We moved town and this medical radiology report typist job was the only job I could get after coming from highly responsible managing and law enforcement.  Small town mentality GURG.

We're returning to our big city (well, big for NZ) and I'm going back to law enforcement YAY.  THAT should shake the 4kgs I've popped on just sitting, sitting, sitting, sitting ....

WITH YA SISTAS!!!!! :D

This is why a year and a half ago I decided to go back to school to do what I love.  I am studying Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and I hope to add a degree in Environmental Science as well.  I hate being indoors all of the time so I chose to get qualified to be outside doing what I love.

That's why we're moving back.  It's been a sort of good experience but the city is so small that corporately it is back in the 19th century - good old Taylor's Scientific Management Theory is alive and kicking and well, and beauracracy thrives.  URG.  I love the justice field and whilst the move was good for my husband's career (also law enforcement) mine has died.  So, after a "paid sabbatical" LOL we've decided to move back.

I'm lucky I have horses - even though the routine with them turned out for winter is a drag - they keep me sane when I get home!!  You can't BS with horses or they take advantage quick as!!

Good for you hswee!

 LMAO

these are all fine ideas indeed. i see you did give it alot of thought. i liked the starving to death one until i got to the head part. what a letdown lol. death by stapler has merit though. i like that. thanks for sharing.
