can i ask, im stil waiting for mine, did u do anything other than gaining the weight?  addition to foods, excercise, bmi?

My story is I came off bcp in jan 08 and I got a period in june 08 and didn't get another one till today, around that time I upped my exercise intensity and decreased my calories to about 1200 and lost weight ( approx 12lbs) so I was 5f3" and 107lb. I did a lot of heavy weight lifting and my body fat dropped to abot 12% so while I never looked very skinny I had more of an athletic body.

In april I got serious about getting my period back, went to the doctor got my hormones tested and my oestrogen was low which I expected, I got provera from her even though she didn't want to give it to me. I did get a bleed from provera. Diet wise I stopped counting calories and ate what I felt like with no restrictions, i cut my exercise by 75% so now I do 45mins 3X a week with 10min light cardio and some weights. When I started gaining weight I noticed more discharge coming.

Im now 118lb and bmi 21 i think.

im also about 5'3.5, im 25, and have gotten my period but only following the use of estrogen, not naturally.

i dont excercise as much as you though.  i do about 20 mins of either cardio or stregnth, or a mixture, 3-5/wk.  i eat anywhere from 1600-1850 or so a day.  im not 118lbs tho.

Im not too sure what actually made it come back for me, I think it was a mixture of lots of things. I also wanted to mention I went to an osteopath for 3 treatments and  I was diagnosed with chronic stress and he thought me how to deal with stress and now do a little yoga some days and listen to meditative cds to relax.

 

I would recommend maybe up your calories a little, I eat anywhere between 1800 - 2100 and my weight has stablisied at about 115 (it was 118 yday when i weighted by it may have been water retention). It will come back for you, it just takes time which is hard to hear but I really believe it teaches us patience

hmm, ive tried yoga but it got bored..

i do jillian michaels 30 day shred level 1, 1-2/week, sometimes i jog abot 10 mins, sometimes i do some free w eights+toning, 1 thing each day, maybe its too much?

idk, u seem more active than i am though and only a little hgiher in weight than myself.  well, im going to a july 4th party so im sure ill eat a ton there, eventho i just finished a burger w/ cheese and an apple, lol

Do you know what your body fat is? Im going to get mine checked in the gym tomorrow so that I know what it is so I don't go below it. I find yoga quite boring too i use it for stress relief rather than exercise, yeah its strange that i do more exercise than you but i am very sedentary in everyday life so I guess it balances out.

 

I think every body is so different, things that work for one might not work for others. Im sure things will work out for you in the end! Im in Ireland and we don't celebrate but Happy 4th of july to you!

i have NO clue what my body fat is or if i could check it somehow.  i kow my underarms and belly and butt jiggle, lol, does that count??

im proud of myself yesterday though, i just ate how everyone else did, a huge Italian sub, a cupcake with frosting, and beer and i think ive been averaging 1750 calories.

im also sedentary in day to day life, i work at a desk and really dont move, drive everywhere so no walking to commute, annoying!  i get home from work at 5:15 so im too tired to change and go workout even for heary health and to be cardiovascularly fit which is what id really like, i get out of breath really too fast.

good luck w the body fat test, i think its great to give urself that limit of what to not go below.  i think ill aim for higher calories-eventho im less a ctive than u r and to gain a few more lbs.
