What food  gets you the most "full"?

 

for ecample the food that holds me from hunger the most is 1 cup of oatmeal boiled in water with a medium banana. it lasts me up to 5 hours. then i get hungry again.

honestly, my daily ice cream/frozen yogurt but i always eat every 2-3 hours regardless of hunger.

Dekkos, aren't you trying to gain weight? You should be looking for calorie-dense foods, and eating often; not trying to find light foods that will keep you full.

As a general rule, fats and proteins digest the slowest so will keep you full for longer. After that, fibre - so wholegrains, vegetables and fruit.

rice gets me full

Ugh, apples, always apples. I'm trying to gain now and I miss them so much but they make my stomach hurt like h*ll now when I eat them. It doesn't help that most apples you get at the grocery store are 1.5 - 2x the size of a "normal" apple serving size. The one upside to it not being a good idea to eat apples right now is that they are out of season and not nearly as good as they are in the fall months.

My Breakfast of Pureed Pumpkin + One Whole Egg keeps me satisfied until Lunch for sure... and then 5 to 6 ounces of ground red meat holds me over until dinner!

Quaker Oats cooked in skim milk + fruit

brown rice, and beans.. i had a bean salad once and i felt like i ate the world after lol

You should be hungrier quicker than five hours given that you're 16 year old undereating, severely underweight and chronically malnourished.  Using oatmeal and banana to act as 'wadding' and suppressing your appetite in this way is very unhealthy and unwise.    To gain weight and to hit the 3000 cals a day (minimum) you need you need to be getting a 400-500 cal meal or snack every two hours.  

Do make an appointment to see a doctor.  Cumulatively, your posts are very worrying and you're exhibiting a lot of the characteristics of disordered eating behaviour.  I also have concerns about your physical and mental wellbeing and think you would benefit from a medical check and some appropriate treatment and advice.

 

 

yes, Jane i have began to eat snacks in bewtween breakfast and lunch i have it around 10 am i usually have like 2 pb sandwiches.

Nuts keep me full for hoursssssssssssss

Because some people get full on a small amount of nuts and rich fats - where as my stomach does not feel full when I eat large amounts; therefore I cannot rely on my stomach to tell me when it has had enough.

Unfortunately I do not have an “off” button that tells me I have had enough chocolate. The fats just do not make me physically full.

BUT…. Once I HAVE fats, such as nuts, I am not hungry for hours. So they keep me “ full” but I can eat a massive amount without my body feeling “ full” if that makes sense.

 

 

I have just started a raw way of living - … and let me tell you…. NOTHING has EVER been able to make my body tell me when it is “ full” until I have started to eat lots of raw fruit…

 

The only thing that makes me feel full, is when I eat a large amount of raw fruit…. In simple combinations… say, two diff fruits … if I keep eating a simple combination of fruit my body makes it very obvious when I physically cannot have any more. It tells me when it is full and satisfied.

No other food can tell me I am full, and that I have had enough.

ALSO - ANIMAL proteins - my protein of choice is fish - salmon actually…. And my body tells me when it has had enough of that too.
