What to do? =\

I started out on this site a few months ago. I am 16, I gfained a lot of weight from a medication. I'm off it now. I used this site at first but then I went on my own.... but I need advice.

I have lost 22lbs in 12 weeks. I went from 156lbs to 134lbs. I am just under 5'5.... so lets say I'm 5'5. I looked up my height-weight and people want to be thinner who have the same stats as me. Should I lose more weight? I went down from size 10 to a 5 since late June (which is very loose on me, too, though I have NEVER worn less than a 5) though I have a feeling I should lose more. Should I? My dad says I should, but somebody at school said I would look too skinny if I did. I am very small frame if you go by the wrist thing.

You are at a healthy weight.  Don't feel pressured to lose any more weight.

Thank you. :)

Though I almsot don't want to eat the foods I enjoy any more. I eliminated the following from my diet, and I just have no appetite for them exept in small, low fat potions I can find.

Pasta

Pizza

Soda (including diet)

I haven't eaten any meat for years

Don't eat MOST cheese any way

I have been eating between 1,200-1,600 calories a day (accidenlty went over or under a few days)

I don't even have much of an appetite recently. All I ate today was cheerios with 1% milk, greek yogurt (eek 12g fat... 250cal) I probably am going to lose more weight anyway because I just have no appetite!

I was just wondering.

Are you comfortable at your current weight? You are at a very healthy weight for your height, and if you are wearing the same size you wore pre-medication, you do not need to lose any more weight, especially since at 16 your body is still developing.

Just eat a sensible, balanced diet, stay active, and enjoy your new smaller size. Also, just because some people with your stats want to be thinner, or your dad says you should lose more weight, there is no reason you need to if you are healthy and comfortable at the weight you are now.

ETA: I just read your previous post. You need to eat more! The bare minimum for a sedentary teenage female is 1500 calories/day, far more if you are at all active. Since your body is still developing, it is crucial that you nourish it properly.

You are a really nice, healthy weight, dont lose more. You are likely to grow a little more height wise yet, you really dont want to be losing more weight.

You really do need to be eating more, you are eating weight loss calories, you should be on maintance which for a teen is atleast 2000.

Youve mentioned that you have no appetite, im wondering what type of medication you were on, what was it for, if you dont minde saying?

What could be causing your lack of appetite, are you stressed with friends, school, family, life in general? Are you depressed? Do you actually not feel hungry?

(sorry that I bumped this...)

I don't know if my stomach shrank or something, I just eat very little and get full, except after school where I do feed very hungry. I am not super active, though I move around a lot at school. My medications, the one I WAS on made me in a constant state of starvation AND slowed my metabolism, making me gain 20+lbs in 3 weeks. (I was only on it for that long) I am on some pills now that don't effect appetite. I am out of the house most of the day and not in places where I can eat often. Anyway (today, ate 2 packets apple slices, cheerios 1% milk, 1 fiber 1 bar, 1 small can V8, and for dinner 8 veggie nuggets and veggie chile. Altogether.... uhh, only 1,000 calories... I will eat something else tonight)

I eat a really healthy diet that isn't high in calories any way. I mostly eat soy, yogurt, cereal, and drink ALMOST only water and milk. I will have juice occasionally but not very often. I cut out soda completely.

But, did I lose weight unhealthily fast? I weighed 156 June 22 and weigh 134 a few days ago (period and such, don't weigh during it). I went from a size 10-12 to a size 4-5, or a loose 6 in that time.

Why does everyones dads always tell them they need to lose weight?

Trust me, it's a universal dad misperception....my dad's comment when I was a size 4 was that losing 10 lbs would get me more dates...I had and have dates aplenty I just don't find that most of them are worthy of introductions to my family.

You could switch the fiber 1 bar for a protein bar or a regular granola bar.  I promise it isn't any less healthy and might actually be healthier.  Put together some trail mix bags that you can eat anywhere and make sure you have a couple handy and you'll probably be just where you need to be.
