what do you do when...

you don't know how many calories you're eating?

we're having pizza king for dinner and they don't post nutritional facts anywhere, or if they do I can't find them. grr! I also work in a pizza place, and don't know how many calories are in our pizza because it's just a local chain.

How many calories do you estimate are in pizza king pizza? And what do you do when this happens to you? Just base nutritional facts on a similar restaurant, like pizza hut?

Guess.

Look up pizza on CC and look at a couple different ones and fine the average. Nutrition facts aren't 100% correct anyway. It's just an estimate. You should be fine.

I eat a sandwich from my cafeteria everyday and none of their sandwiches have nutritional facts, so I guess. If I can take it apart, I go piece by piece, other than that, it's all guessing.

I wouldn't get hung up on a slice of pizza or two. :)

If the slice of pizza is about the size of a slice of papa john's, then I count it as about 300 calories.  I just limit myself to 1 or 2 slices, and try to add in salad or something.  Good luck!

I ordered a 12" cheese pizza just yesterday.  I weighed one slice of it and found it was 3.5 ounces.  Went into the CC data base and found three similar pizzas, entered 3.5 ounces for each one.  They were all very similar in calories, so I went with the highest one.  I made a note of it for future reference.  Took maybe five minutes to determine how many calories I had consumed.
