2012

Can someone explain to me how exactly I'm supposed to die in 2012?  I personally don't buy any of that crap, but then again, I honestly haven't even thought about it.  I just am curious why and how I am going to die in 2012.

Well, everyone.  I just am curious how the end of the world is going to go down.

I think this question probably applies to republicans and/or Christians because they know more about the end of the world apparently.

I'm both republican (sorta) and Christian, and I hadn't heard of it.  But then, I don't beleive the end CAN be predicted, so PFFFT.

I just looked at a calendar and the last day is Dec 31, 2009, that must mean the the world is going to end on that day.  You'll never see 2012.

Anyway, I believe most theologists agree that the bible says it's going to be a comet (can't remember where I read that, so it could be wrong).  Biblical texts also say that the whole coming of the antichrist followed by the rapture thing will happen first so chances are you'll be killed in a big ol' war to end all wars, or somewhere in the chaos of the global economic/governmental/etc shift (you know, the new world order the antichrist is supposed to bring), or you'll make it through to the rapture and if you believe in God and heaven and all you'll be taken there before anything really bad happens to you.  This will of course be followed by the erruption of every volcano on earth, all kinds of earthquakes and tsunamis etc, etc, etc...

Then again, I also saw a tv show recently where a guy with a PhD stated in all seriousness that it's "not so much a question of IF the robots will take over the world, it's a question of WHEN."

Did the ancient Mayans have PhDs?  I think not.  I think we'll have to listen to the man.

 Oh, I know santonacci... I hadn't read any of the posts prior to posting (shame on me) so I really was just making sure that that's what she was talking about, not some facebook quiz telling her she was going to die on "September 12, 2012" or something... ;)

My calendar is in MicroSoft Outlook and I'm a little confused.  I can see dates on it thru September 4, 4500 but I cannot access dates beyond August 31, 4500.  I think this means that I will die on august 31, 4500, just 4 days before the end of the world on September 4, 4500!

Dude - I may have to rethink this.

Finally all those people who bought freeze dried food and water filters for Y2K will be able to say they didn't waste their money.

Every other prediction about the end has been completely wrong, obviously. The world will end whenever it ends...and we can't control that. Unless the Mayans made the world, they can't predict when it's going to end. I'm not scared...I know where I'm going.
