day
weight gainers what do you spend your day doing ?besides nurishing your bodies work? school? im looking for ideas to fill my days and im just interested how others spend there time
think you'll find your answer here, in a thread you started on a similar topic
i'm in an outpatient program so i go there from 12-8pm. before going, i usually eat, do light exercise, clean, homework...walk the dog..listen to music...relax. sometimes pilates or yoga is calming.
on the weekends though i am usually with friends or family, running errands, etc etc
thanks crazy , why to i feel like your laughing at me fidget?
Hey Helen,
I have no school or work at the moment and I'm only in outpatient treatment for one hour a week so I have a lot of time to fill!
I go for gentle walks, read as many cheap books as I can (charity shops etc), watch movies, go yoga/pilates, go on facebook, look for recovery inspiration online, go shopping even I don't buy anthing, visit family and friends, clean, dance, download music, make song playlists, write letters, do puzzles etc
Hope this helps x
helen!! im not laughin at you. im genuinely not. this is a bit like the hunger thread though. you ask for advice about a topic and soon after you ask again.
this would indicate that you haven't actually changed anything since the first time you posted this. so you might consider putting your own plan into action?
like i saw on a thread recently that you were talking about eating and that you were taking in 25-2600 cals and 'trying to keep hunger at bay'. you asked about hunger several times and the advice was to eat more to satisfy it - but you're eating the same.
tis the same with this. im not being sarcastic or smart or pissy or anything. you are kind and give great encouragement but maybe you need to look at some behaviours that keep you where you are. like asking for help - but then not following through...
thanks emma that really does my life has totally been ed related for so many years now im challenging this im finding it difficult to replace th time and know whats normal h x
I second books, but if you get tired of reading, how about renting movies? Use this as a time to catch up on movies that you missed at the theater, or try to catch some cool old movies on TV. They're worth it for the neat fashion, even if the plots are corny!
Also, you probably should try to get out of the house for a little while each day. I don't know how much energy you have, but even a walk around the block would be good for you, just to get some air.
I think that writing to/phoning friends you would like to get back in touch with ect would be cool. And a motivation to keep getting better so that when you see eachother you can impress them! x
thanks guys and fidget i admire your honesty h x
thanks... i think??
its not a swipe at you at all... it's honestly not.
if you ever get a chance, look up a cbt model and see if you can see any of your behaviours in relation to ed's in it. i think you could spend a lot of practical time analysing your thought patterns and maybe finding a way out of the resulting behaviours.
i WORK and im SOOOOOOOOOOO happy to be able to say that!!!
that was my BIGGEST motivation, among many other things, to start gaining, and it keep me motivated each and every day!
i am SO lucky to ahve my job, my weight+health are NOT going to hold me back!
that wa very inspirational amy thanks i hope you feel better soon h x
Tessa are you scared to try things? You can think of things all day to do but then have to push through the fears and do it. I keep suggesting to you to volunteer with animals? Or get a pt job with one? It sounded like you loved that idea so why have you not tried? Don't let fears stand in your way. It also opens the door to meet people
i know abbi your right i have phoned round today to look into volrnteering work no luck yet but going to keep trying i also have an appointment with my social worker this week and she is going to point me in the right direction
Volunteer work is truly the very best thing a person can do to lift his/her perspective up out of the self. We all spend so much time sunk in our own heads just over-analyzing every little thing about ourselves, and it's not healthy! (I don't just mean ED-sufferers, here. I mean the vast majority of Westerners. We're totally neurotic!)
Thanks Abbi, you've inspired to me to get started again with volunteer work. I'm going next week to spend a day working on my friend's urban community farm. Can't wait!
Studying is a brilliant means of distracting your mind.
Other than that I would suggest trying to think what you are truly interested in? You could write a book on your Eating troubles? You could join other forum sites and post on them?
I listen to music, write, read, dance (ballet)
Pretty much whatever brings me happiness ;)
TESSA-i inspire myself at times, i hope u feel motivated to get better, to want to do something in the future.
i wouldnt be able to have my job if i looked like a sickly walking skeleton, it is sooo worth it!
thanks
thanks amy h xx
Besides spending much free time here on CC, I do a lot of school work from home, at the moment. However, I do have to admit, I am on the internet quite a bit. When I am not on CC (or while I am on), I like to browse other forums, listen to music, or play on a game website with my mom. I also enjoy helping my mom cook/bake, watch some TV shows with her or knit to keep our minds at ease and often go and enjoy little walks here and there.
