ok so 2500 calories everday it is.

im so scared of a slow metabolism and everyone on here said this is the only way to fix it. im ready to fix it, even if i do gain 5 lbs the first week.

now my question to you all is how quickly did you reach your goal weight once you started eating this much?

oh and is it ABSOLUTELY neccessary to eat 2500 calories to restore your metabolism or can you eat 2000?  obviously you wont gain as much but will it affect your metabolism differently?

You just said you were going to gain on 2500, so surely what happens on 2000 is irrelevant?

Yes it will affect your metabolism differently.

2500 to gain, don't let the ED talk you out of it. You know what to do. We're here to support you. Make your plan tonight if possible. don't think just do when it comes time to eat tomorrow!!

Everyone is different and many need over 4000 to get to a normal weight. Focus on what you need to be healthy and the end result is to get to a healthy weight. I hear you sound conflicted but it is normal part of the ed. Push through those thoughts and don't give yourself the option of eating less.

okay, thank you so much for the replys and yes i am very conflicted haha i probably sound ridiculous through all these posts. ive decided though its worth fixing my metabolism im not only going to eat 1200 calories to maintain the rest of my life!!

Expect the worst, hope for the best. That's my motto. So accept the worst possible outcome that way you don't over compensate, don't freak out, and stay motivated. This way when those things don't happen you can be a bit more comfortable :)

ok so just got back from my therpist. i told her about how im going to eat 2500 and she thinks i wont gain at all. im so confused as to how she can say this when ive gained 1.5 lb the last week eating like 1600 calories...??? my metabolism is so screwed up. im going to ballon up i sware. guess ill still give it a try tho.

you MIGHT balloon up but you MIGHT not. just avoid tons of bulky veggies or the bloat will be inevitable. it's better to eat low bulk, high cal, healthy foods. you can do it. stay off the scale!! OFF!! it can be discouraging and inaccurate because of water retention.
