Yeah, United, it is impressive but there was hiccup for us late eaters/loggers.
and congratulations for crossing from 2006 into 2007 with no loss of service
I had a problem about 11:30 or so New Year's Eve where I could not log anything for the next day. I posted my problem, and no one responded.

yeah ..yeah!!!..congrats you guys..and if you experience a problem..remember these things are madfde buy humans who themselves are from perfect..which by the way is why we are here ....
Psst.... a little birdie told me that for 2007 C-C got a new server! Woo-hoo!!
aaah, i bet stuff was rolling through the system crossing over through
time zones and all.
Well, that was my assumption too since there was nothing on the boards from people in GB for instance, not being able to log.
I'm assuming it's all fixed and up and running for you now?
Yes, but with my question back in October and a question from someone else in the last week on the same issue, it would have been nice if some one could have warned us any temporary changeover issues.

Happy New Year!
Apologies for the difficulties - we are in the middle of moving over a lot of different systems so things might be acting a little strange the next week or so, but hopefully this will mean more speed, reliability and room to grow for the future =)

Congrats & Happy Birthday! Love calorie-count! I'm excited to be here. Thank you :)
Congratulations Erik and Igor.
I love the site.
I love the site.
It would have been nice when they plan to shut the site down for maintenance, to give us a warning. General warnings about some type of undefined loss of function are not helpful. Time and speficity are everything! If on that day I had seen a warning on the homepage and/or the forums page about kicking everying off at 9 pm, I would have planned accordingly!
I was kicked off at 3 pm today with something in my journal I had no intention of making public but got lazy while I working with it, then boom, I got kicked off. Fortunately, I was able to get back on in about 10 minutes and remove it.
Was off about an hour the night before that from 9 to 10 pm Eastern. I lost a long journal entry I could have easily saved midstream if forewarned. I wasn't happy about that at all.

yikes. maybe there is a gripe thread somewhere???
I can't believe these forums! And the people! And the tools! Think I'll stay awhile.
Thanks calorie-count. I'm so impressed and I don't understand how you can do all this for free?

Sure, and that will make everything all better, right? I get sick of seeing one-sided pat-on-the-back threads. Smacks of the same positive propaganda from politicians and bureaucrats that makes the news everyday. Ever heard of balance?

I am so thankful to have found CC - and wish them continued success! As for the downtimes, they have been minimal, and considering the site is free, I find that the 'down for maintenance' time to be understandable as they are doing it to help make our time on this site even more enjoyable and useful. So yea, while a little warning might have been nice, I can't really complain. Heck, there are some free providers (like Yahoo) who have been messing up for over a year, with no relief in sight, that really need a major talking to about warning others about downtime and such. In comparison, I find the needed offline time necessary and quite minimal.
As for the gripes, if there is something that you find is a 'bug' with the program, or you have suggestions on things that could improve how the site functions, you can always go to the "To-Do" list and submit a suggestion. (Go to "Home" then "to do list".) Not to mention you can check their 'to-do' list to see if what you are considering hasn't already been submitted.
Happy B'day CC.

Not to butt in but this site runs really well for being a free site. I am not going to complain about anything because it is free unlike most weight loss websites. Everything is free on here, they could up the personnel and then charge for their services but they continue to do all of this for us for free.
Way to go and keep up the great work Erik & Igor. I am thankful for your site and everyone on it that has become my friend. I really appreciate the support and the free tools.

All I can say is this site is....AWESOME....Thank you to Erik and Igor....you guys are the greatest....

Just would have liked a useful warning--specific in types of disruptions and anticipated start times of maintenance.
And I agree that one of the goals is to make this site more enjoyable and useful--but let's all get real that at the end of that road there is money. Expanding the consumer base and the numbers of people who have to be on this site is important, especially when the site, or at least certain features, become a subscription service. Being in business, Erik and Igor have that as a goal too, and therefore should not be elevated as gods.
Think of television in general. I derived a great deal out of it from PBS and CBS programming and would have been woefully unprepared for kindergarten without them. But the goal was not to prep me for school; the goal was to make money off commercials ;)
