I have been so good all day today, including having oatmeal for dinner! I worked out cardio-45 min, and some weight lifting as well as abdominals. But i went out to walgreens to buy my baby some meds and bought 2 Symphony bars....and ate one. I am soo craving the other one. I'm pretty sure it will be gone by morning! I just needed to vent that to someone!

noo its ok that you ate that cookie! your allowed to treat yourself every once in a while, especially with all of the exercising that you did. just make sure that you dont have those little cravings, everrryyy night and you'll be fine! don't worry you'll be fine :]
maybe you weren't eating enough today? oatmeal for dinner doesn't sound very satisfying, not to me at least. whatever the reason, don't worry about it! it's over. just try not to eat the other one. throw it away, maybe? haha I don't know.
I suggest you detroy that other bar somehow ... I have a rule -- I don't buy candy (or other junk). (Well, I DO eat minute amounts of dark chocolate.) Maybe you should have a rule too. It's hard enough avoiding the crap because of OTHER people shoving it in our faces, without ourselves purchasing it.
My opinion is that it's not really ok. Sure it's ok to have a little bit, but two bars of candy is not ok. I'm not talking to you personally, Timsmom -- I'm just stating my opinon (for all those that will get their panties in a ruffle because I said it's not ok).

dont let it get to you..you had a good day otherwise with the cardio etc and as long as you dont make it a habit just think of it as a treat and have a good day tomorow..
Yeah oatmeal for dinner probably didn't give your body what it needs. I know my oatmeal has only 160 calories per pack and while it does have some fiber and protein, that still isn't enough to keep you from going into starvation mode and then your body needed to eat something. Give the other candy bar away and add something to your dinner, a nice salad with a chicken breast maybe?
yeah other dinner ideas would be:
baked fish with a baked sweet potato
clear broth soup with a sandwhich
lean cuisine (something quick)
even omelet with veggies would have more protien and a piece of bread

WOOHOOO!!! THank you so much for all your support and concerns....alayney and danii2937-thank you for being so honest! You are right! And you will be proud to know that I didnt eat the second one! i actually hid it so I can't see it. I want to see how long I can go without eating it! LOL I know that is soo bad of me to do this to myself-but I really want to know if I can wait a week or 2!! If I wait 2 weeks without eating it, i'm gonna treat myself to a pedicure and give that candy bar to my baby!
Laura_l0095, rebajay, and alex-thank you for your concern about the oatmeal! I had a few good friends and family that had done the oatmeal thing for a while-they ate it just one meal inthe day and had lost a significant amount of weight as well as dropped their cholesterol and fasting blood sugars significantly as well (all over 37 yrs old).
i'm only 28 but I am very much prone (family history) to heart disease and to diabetes. So I just try to have a meal of oatmeal at least once every 2 days. its easy to make, healthy, and I add fruits and nuts to it if I have enough calories to add to my day, and to top it all off, I usually have a good lunch and a good breakfast since I am a stay at home mom. Dinner seems to be the only time where I am motivated to actually have the oatmeal so I think why not! i had a friend (a resident doctor!) who wanted to lose weight and lower her cholesterol and she had eaten a good bfast, and lunch, and when she got home for dinner she didnt feel like going out as well as cooking a whole dinner just for herself, so she made oatmeal....she look gorgeous now! What do you guys think?
