I did it!

I lost 50 pounds this summer.

I weighted 228 on June 4th.  Tonight?  178!

Fifty-freakin'-pounds!!!!!!!!!!  That sounds so much better than "I lost 47 pounds this summer."  47 sounds anal-retentive.  Like I'm obsessed with it.  Which I am, LOL, I just don't want to SOUND like I am (the big diet bore, watch out, she'll want to talk to you about her diet! Run away before you have to hear it!).  I can casually drop, "Oh, do I look different?  Well, I have lost fifty pounds..."

Oh, baby, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, I took no pills, had no surgery, no tricks... just counting calories and exercising... go figure!!!!!!!

I'm taking the weekend off from my diet, just for kicks, and then I'm starting my next goal next week.  As soon as I decide on it!  LOL

It's too late at night to tell anyone else, so I had to post here.  I know it is self-indulgent, but this is all I did all week...  was focus on this diet, that exercise, and I'm soooo thrilled I did it!   I was going to give myself until Monday, but I'm 2 days early.

Woioooo Hoooooooo!!!!!!!!

How exciting..CONGRADS! thats A LOT of weight to lose in so short of time...Do tell what your calorie intake and exercise was!
Well... I basically made losing weight my "job" this summer.

I ate around 1100-1200 calories a day.  I do fast one day a week, and then eat a big dinner that night.  I ate mostly "real" (not in a box) foods, and counted calories pretty carefully.

For exercise, I constantly mixed it up.  I did step, spin, walking, eventually some jogging.  Water areobics, lap swim, abs class, and even a little weight lifting (though not much... it's just not me, though I do lift weights in classes).

I exercised about 3 hours a day most days, Saturdays for one hour and Sundays just a long walk.

I hope this helps someone.  I'm actually overweight now, instead of obese.  That may sound gross to some, but for those of us who struggled to get away from the "obese" title, it is a LOVELY thing to be just "overweight"!  LOL
That is so AWESOME!! A very big accomplishment! Good job!!
wow! 50 pounds! congrats big time!!! :)

:::blows up purple balloons, hangs streamers & tosses confetti:::

I'm so touched by the replies.  Really.

Thanks guys.

I wore a new dress to church today.  It was so nice to wear a dress, and one that is knit and fits and doesn't have places where I have to really suck it in... LOL.

Yayy!  New clothes feel so good, even if my budget is kind of "clearance rack."  LOL
Awesome, congrats! VERY inspiring to others...and me!  I have 14 lbs to go to get out of "obese" category, then 30 till out of "overweight",--62 lbs total to goal.  Nice to know 50 is possible, can't wait :)  congrats again!

u deserve to shout out you did it!! all day man.. haha. be proud of yourself.. you are on the right track, and this would really inspire others who are watching their weight.. im happy for you (= keep it up, go-getter!!

(man..fifty freakin' pounds..)

Thats fab! Congrats.

The only thing that puzzles me is, exercising 3 hours a day, and eating 1100 - 1200 calories. Wouldnt you burn up your entire days amount of calories in just the exercise?

And i know how it feels to go from the obease BMI (30.9) to just overweight (26.5).

Good luck on your next goal :D
