When did you.....
When did you finally give yourself permission to maintain your weight? I always seem to think I should be able to loose more, but the scale just doesn't want to move. Did you all have a goal weight in mind or did you just decide one day you were happy with how you looked and that was it?

I have a weight goal; when I reach 120 lbs I'll stop trying to loose weight and focus on maintaining. Did you have a gol when you started loosing weight?
jill, a goal is important to me. I had a healthy weight goal. Met that weight goal and even exceeded it. Maintaining is where I have been at for over a month. I hope you have a realistic goal that is healthy and makes you feel happy.

I've been wondering the same thing. I kind of know that 115 is the lowest I can be and 125 is the highest. So, I'm splitting the difference and going for 120. When I get there (4 more to go!!), we'll see what happens I suppose.
My main challenge now is to allow myself to eat more food and to eat previously "off limit" foods. They still scare me and I'm afraid I might start getting cravings and things like that.

I am five-six lbs below my goal weight and have been below it for about a month now. So I hope that *NOW* is the answer to your question, but it's hard. I didn't start out of with a goal weight. I just wanted to lose some of the weight I'd gained during college, and then I started setting goals... and now I keep setting the goals.

Thank you for your replies. I did have a goal and have met it. But I always wonder if I maybe set my goal weight too high. I'm a competitive person and like to challenge myself. I thought I would be happier at this weight, but apparently I'm not. I feel like if I stop trying to loose weight, I'm quitting. I don't like to quit. Don't you ever wonder if you could do more?
Anyway, that being said, I commend all of you on your weight loss. It's not an easy thing, but you've all done it. And I'm especially envious that you are happy with yourself when you look in the mirror. I have a feeling that's more of a head thing than a scale thing. Congratulations to all of you. When I was 136 it was hard to imagine getting lower than 118 so that was my first goal. Once I put my mind to it the weight started coming off, so I went for 115, then 112. Right now I'm hanging around 111. At first I thought 112 might be too low, but I'm used to it now and feel great.
Right now I'm concentrating on toning and adding some muscle to my back and arms. I've been maintaining for about 4 weeks :)

When I hit 170 I went to a nutritionist, but I kept sticking to the lower end of the guidelines she gave me because I was afraid I would gain. I wound up losing another 10 lbs, but then I started eating even more. I think I've gained a few lbs of muscle over the summer though.
