Today I ate over 2000 calories, and I have until March 14 of this year to reach my mini-goal of a loss of 12 pounds. What should I do now? Should I eat less calories tomorrow & exercise a lot more? Or should I just go on like nothing happened?

Thanks!

Natalia.

We all have bumps on our road to weight loss.  I'd say go back to your needed calorie amount tomorrow and don't look back.  If you have time, throw in some exercise as well.  You'll be ok!

You need a MINIMUM of 1800 calories a day for your metabolism to continue burning like you need it to.

Are you active at all? If so, 1800 is the bare minimum, and even at 2000, you're not going to gain weight with a weight of 212. You will lose weight.

You burn 1821.6 a day doing absolutely NOTHING. That's your BMR, or your basal metabolic rate. That means if you sat in bed ALL day and did nothing, that's what your body would burn.

Do not eat under that number if you want to lose weight.

Well, somehow I lost a pound...so I guess it wasn't that bad. Thanks for your help! :-)
LOL  i was just going to say that maybe your body needed it & not to worry, you'll probably lose anyway~  i see i'm too late...
I think that a lot of us go through the challenge of sticking to our goals (calorie wise).  Don't beat yourself up.  Try to keep in your mind why you want to reach your goal by March 14th.  Think of all of the positives of how far you've come and where your goal will take you and make you feel.  Don't punish yourself by eating less calories the next day, that will only make you hungrier.  Just start over, tomorrow's a new day.
