I would think so... hm.
My best friend's mom was taking Hydroycut for a while, and initially, she lost a little bit of weight (about 5-10 pounds, she was also "eating" protein shakes as meal replacements), but, a few weeks later, all her weight just leaped back on, and brought friends. She was still taking the pill and still drinkning the shakes, its just came back on for some reason. And when she stopped taking the pill and quit the shakes she just got even fatter, gaining a total of about 20 lbs, so in the end it all resulted to work against her.
I havn't heard of acually gaining weight from diet pills but there are a lot of other health reasons to stay away from certain types. Diet pills containing epherine or mua huang are very dangerous, they raise your heart rate and core temperature so you burn more calories throughout the day, however many people have died from this drug. If you have any heart problems, even if they are small and unknown to the user, it intensifies and cause irreparable damage or death. Young, fit people have died of heart attacks.
As for all the other ones, I've tried some and really have had no effect as good old fasioned diet and exercise.
It was most likely the diet and exercise that where behind the weight loss so of course after a few years of laziness she gained weight.
Being surrounded by them doesn't mean you should take them, either.
wow.
thank you for telling me, i had no idea!
When I first decided to get serious about taking all this excess poundage off I knew I was faced with one big problem.... Appetite. I spoke with my doctor and she put me on Phentermine. This is an ampedamine... (ie-speed) in a controled dosage. I had to go in every month for a check up and to get my next prescription. The good thing was that this medication did give me a slight buzz when I first started using it, but so long as I took it early in the morning upon getting up, I had no trouble sleeping, and it did help to control my appetite. So much so that in the first month I dropped 18 pounds. Three months latter the pill no longer worked and my doctor said this was very common. I am not on it any longer and they usually only let you stay on it for about 3 to 4 months.
I am not into my 5th month and have lost 35lbs... I think that so long as you see a doctor and make sure your health conditions can handle it, some diet pills can be of great value. BEWARE... If you have an addictive type personality...I would not use.
I've tried tons of different diet pills when trying to cut up, they are all mostly a waste of time and money! None of them have been any good since they banned ephedrine. And like someone said before they all have similar effects to speed, you will lose a bit in the short term but put it back on again when you stop taking them.
My advice would be to save your money, and probably your health too.
This may seem stupid, but I have a 1 more stubborn pound to lose and I'm thinking about using my dad's Lipo6, just for a lil while to assist with the last lil bit of weight. My thing is I don't wanna be poppin a pill all my life so I use the diet pills short term, some work some don't. I've take Hydroxycut to help me over a plateau and it helped.
I say it's worth a try if you don't have any health problems, but don't become dependent on anything except a healthy lifestyle.
