why is this an A- ?

Quote  |  Reply

ok, so I've been having a rough couple of days ed wise and have gone back to logging calories :\ I will stop this though!

Anyways, it usually gives me an A when I have logged in the past and the last 2 days I've gotten an A-. I don't care all that much, I'm pretty sure I'm eating healthy, I'm just curious if any of you can tell me what might be too high or too low based on my analysis. I don't know enough to really be able to read this thing. Thanks in advance!

I would venture to guess that the minus sign came from the sodium, which is a bit high.

hmm i probably do use a lot of salt...I'll look into that, thanks!

I also thought it may just be the actual calorie count, even though today was actually a low day Tongue out

10oz of sugar in a day is also rather high, unless it's all made up from fruit and vegetables.

Daily Saturated Fat Intake - 34 gram

Daily total should not exceed 20g. I don't think you even need saturated fat in your diet?

You know what its an A-.  In the large picture it is all you can hope for!!  I would say stop trying to disect everything and keep doing what you are doing.  An A- is really good!

Your protein looks a bit low, and the sodium looks a bit high.  Wow, that's a lot of fiber!

The grades are just averages of the grades on your individual food choices I think, so you might look at those grades and see what brought it down.  I wouldn't worry about it though.  I've never had an A.  The best I've gotten is an A-minus.  lol.

Karozel is right, the grades are an average of your food's grades. Don't bother too much about it: you would get an A if you ate oranges all day long, but that doesn't mean you're eating healthy!

For you caloric intake, your levels are quite fine, even your pie percentages (your fat intake goes over the 30%, but that's not dramatic!)! Good job!

Wrong. You absolutely need saturated fats, just not in excess.

^Agreed. Saturated fats are an essential part of a healthy diet. Plus, 20g is for a normal maintenance intake. Someone who is trying to gain weight needs to eat more food, so obviously this will lead to higher intake of fat also.
