haha...thought I'd test those of you TRUE dog lovers out there :o)))
Pretty funny that of all the forums and groups offered on this amazing site, that I would choose this one to join first.
Lucky for me I'm married, if left to my own devices I'd be known as the "dog lady" in my town.
Right now, I have only one...the sweetest little Jack Russell you'll ever meet...her name is Ruby. She is unbelievably funny too...she smiles...and LAUGHS!
About me...well, I love all animals (dogs and horses especially).
I'm 47, married for 24 years and have a wonderful group of family and friends nearby. Sadly I lost my mum last year. But my Dad and I have grown closer since.
I've struggled with my weight all my life. I'm 5'3" and weigh 240. I'm at the point now where, if I don't do something about it now, I'll probably end up living what's left of my life this way.
Losing weight now is much harder than when I was younger. Exercising is also more difficult as I've developed osteo arthriris in most of my joints due to my excess weight.
What's ironic is that NOW I do finally "GET IT". Who was it who said "youth is wasted on the young"? lol...so true. Yep. after all of the diets and gimmicks and magic solutions, I finally understand what it takes to do it the right way. Eat less and move more.
Anyway, fellow "dog-ies" please keep me in your prayers and / or positive thoughts as I give it my all and commit to a sensible weight loss plan.
I wish you all courage, strength and success too!
Nice to meet you!
