I'm Tami. I started using this site in May and then "got busy" and just came back today. I'm 57 years old and want to lose about 10 pounds (I think - I'll go weigh tomorrow). I say "go weigh" because I refuse to buy a scale. Instead I like the adventure of wearing only a thin cover-up (naked underneath) with flip flops I can take off. I golf cart to my nearby Publix store EARLY in the morning. I trim my nails, don't wear makeup, brush my teeth so there's no "plaque" weight - you know, all the jokes from Erma Bombeck's routine.
I'm frustrated because we moved to this wonderful retirement community in Florida 4 years ago and I immediately gained this extra poundage - we don't do ANYTHING here without cookies or dessert. Self control will be hardest for me, and I'm hoping you all can keep me on track. Other people seem to lose weight easily; my neighbor switched to low sodium soup and lost 15 pounds; friends change medication and lose weight; my husband went back to work and lost 10. I exercise A LOT and can't seem to lose an ounce. I hope this doesn't sound whiney, but losing a FEW pounds is sometimes the hardest. Anyone else working on getting rid of 10-15 pounds and want to be friends? HELP.....
Thanks Tami for the inside info. My activities seem to have lots of cakes & cookies. My husband thinks a big supper with homemade pound cake says I love you. Not making that up. When we have THE TALK aka I need your support please don't buy junk food (-: he is gung ho. Week later he is back to sabotage. He makes a joke about it when he brings home major junk food. (my whiny moment). Recently I have been stronger in resisting the junk. Spent 2 weeks with almost no carbs. I am definitely a carb addict. must go carpool for grandson. looking forward to hearing from lots of folks
love & light
