We just launched a brand new Food Logger!

Dear Calorie Counters,

I am excited to announce our new Food Logger! It's practically a completely new product and we believe that it will make the daily logging of new foods much more efficient. It may take a few minutes to propagate to all accounts, so if you don't see it yet, just come back in half an hour.

Here's an overview of most of the changes. In order to enable the new logger, you'll have to click on "Great - let me test it" at the top of this page. We'll also continue to support our old interface until all bugs and kinks have been ironed out. If you'd like to provide a bug report or suggestions on how to make the food logger better, please follow this link.

I am looking forward to your first impressions (and keep in mind that all change is difficult, but sometimes it's well worth it ;)

Now why didn't I think of that?  Thanks.

I sure wish I could figure out a coupe of things on the site that I think everyone else is able tto find easily for some reason.

I am new to the site and I just started entering my meal and workout stuff this week. I cannot for the life of me figure out where the "create a meal" link is. I have looked at the area where it says it is, but when I go anywhere in the food log area, nothing.............the other thing is, I think there is a way to look at your nutritional intake for multiple days, but I can't find it. I can see each days detail, but nothing that groups it all together. Also, on the same note, I would like ot be able to see what my cumulative net calorie defecit is, but I can't see that either.

if someone can help me with the navigation, it would be appreciated.

cheers

Once you have logged a few things, you should be seeing a screen that has:

Your last food logged on the left, and on the right of the screen, a list of what you've logged so far, divided between meals, under the heading Food Log. Above "Breakfast" there's a chef's hat and a link that says "Create a meal". Click that and you'll get a box to make a name for a meal, and all of your logged foods will have empty check marks - check the ones that go into the meal and hit the greyish Create Meal button to save.

For the intake over multiple days, you can get the average by going into the Analysis tab and clicking the Average (for completed days) check box.

I don't think there is a way to see it cumulative, only averaged.

Another feature I would LOVE to see is if we could take a pre-existing item and copy or edit to save as another item.  For instance, I eat a lot of frozen entrees (Lean Cuisine and the like), and I don't know if they're constantly changing formulations or what... But oftentimes I find that the nutrition information posted here is off from what is listed on my package. Usually only slightly, so the copy feature would be wonderful so we wouldn't have to retype ALL the information again.

Sorry if someone has suggested this already, but I thought I'd throw this idea in there!

I seem to have a bug in the food logger or I'm doing something wrong. So I went to your link for bug report, but only saw a place for suggestions.

When I click on an item from the food database, it comes with it's Nutrition Facts, but under the green "Add to Log" button, there is not "add to Favorties" button, but instead there is an "Add to Meal" and under that, an "Add to Recipe" button. I can see no way to add the database item to my favorites.

Click on the star next to the item name, that'll add it to favorites.

Thank you so much pushbuttonkitty!  That worked! I would have never thought to push the star. Embarassed

Heh- I learned the same way you did, I went to add a favorite and couldn't find the button.  It was just a random chance that I thought to click the star, I figured star could mean favorite, and sure enough, it did!

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
