How can you log / track Vitamin Intake?

Quote  |  Reply

I realize "Calorie Count" is about tracking the "amount of good" (I'm an eternal optimist), we eat based on caloric in take.

Can we (and how) track Vitamin in take and the associated daily good we are doing for our body?

I'd especially like to see those times where I might not have received enough Vitamin A in food consumption, however by taking Multi-Vitamin, I compensated for this deficit.

thanks!

i did a search to find an answer to this question myself.  i was hoping to find an answer...

anyone?  anyone?

Hi,

I don't see any vitamins listed in the foods. I added my own vitamins and taged them for repeat use. I don't think the system takes them into account because my rating for food intake doesnt change. The rating is based on volume of "good" food. It makes sense. If I add two apples my rating gets better.

Probably not the answer you were looking for, either was I when I started.

If you go to the "analysis" page, with the little pie chart, and put your mouse arrow (cursor) over the actual date below the pie chart (where it gives you the actual numbers for grams of protein, fat, etc), it will pop up with a little chart that tells you the % DV of vitamins you are getting, as well as sugar, sodium and cholesterol.

Other than that, I don't know if there's a way to "track" it.  You can have lots of days come up on the analysis page tho (change the date range) and then toggle over the individual dates to get an idea of how you are doing overall-- but I don't know of any "pie chart" way to see vitamins.

I'll ask Calorie-Count.....give me a few days.

If you google NutritionData the website provides a fairly detailed breakdown of vitamins and minerals for a lot of foods. You just need to create an account to track your intake.

If I understood your question correctly, you want to be able to add vitamin supplements, NOT vitamins from food, right?  I would like to be able to do that, too.  I take Centrum Silver Ultra Women's, as well as a potassium supplement and a calcium supplement each day.  I'd like to be able to enter those somehow.  Hope someone can come up with a solution.

Hi,

Did anyone get an answer from Calorie Count on this important topic.  It is greatly needed and necessary to be able to track our vitamin, mineral supplements along with our food values.  Hope Calorie Count plans to implement this soon.  Thus far I do not see any other sites offering this service and it would most certainly give Calorie Count a large boost.  Thanks
