Official Calorie Camp Updates

Quote  |  Reply

As some of you might know, we are currently working on a new product called Calorie Camp. The main objective for this product is to enable users to get as much support from our community as possible. This will be accomplished by allowing users to share their food logs and post comments and questions. The benefit from participating in the Calorie Camp should be insightful comments and tips from your friends and the rest of our community that will hopefully keep you motivated and allow you to learn from others.

Also, please note that we're not planning on releasing the Calorie Camp before December, and we'll use the time between then and now to implement your feedback and get the product to meet most of our community's needs.

Today, I had a spinach frittata with tomato, garlic which was put into recipe.  How does Cal Camp know/determine what the components are in a recipe meal? Frittata provided a serving of veggies and a serving of dairy.

Edited to say:

Can you consider showing goals for servings of dairy and whole grains in addition to fruits and veggies?

Could you please "re-fiddle" with the program so that we can reply directly to a particular comment in a person's comment section?

yeah, please, it's a little annoying to click the "reply" button and have nothing happen...

Why are daily meal caloric intake totals not listed anymore like they use to be?

We just released a bunch of changes:

  • You can now view your previous weeks
  • The toolbar is removed
  • Comments can be posted and goals can be viewed on the Dashboard
  • You can see who liked your and other people's reports
  • Goals can be changed at any time
  • The up/down votes on comments are replaced with likes
  • Total calories on the Dashboard are replaced with net calories (which will be calculated starting with today's submitted reports)
  • Unified comments/questions/tips into comments on the mark day complete overlay

Let us know how you like the changes. We're getting close to the public launch, which should be sometime in December. Yay!

One thing I noticed that I personally don't like - is with the new layout, you can't see the total cals people ate - only see the rating (A, A+, etc).

For technical reasons, we had to enable the net calories only for reports submitted after this release. Have a look at the reports later today or tomorrow and tell us what you think.

Hmm... we just decided to hold off on the net calories and instead you'll continue seeing total calories. We'll have to put some more work into the net calories.

I didn't get my check mark of staying within my 15% of calories because of the net calorie/ total calorie calculation?

The goal of have a Nutrition Grade B- or better is not working.  I had B-  B   or B+ for a number of days and never got the check mark.  It's a minor thing, but would be nice to get that one.

Thanks, this has been fixed, was only checking B+ or better. This will go into affect with all future submitted reports.

Nice work and a lot of work on your part. Thanks for a great program.

Something askew because when I tried date range for last week, nothing comes up.

Edited to say: I see the problem. First ref line shows "Week4 (11/22/11-present)"

Second line shows "Week4 (11/22/11-11/21/11)" clicking on this gave the blank.

Third line shows "Week3 (11/15/11-11/21/11) which gives my last week reports.

The number (ex: 2/7) of days per week for my calcium, fiber  iron are not accurate. There are days when I get a check mark for nutrition consumption  goal, but it does not get transferred on to the number per days of the week.

Thanks, this was a bug affecting 6 of the nutrients. This has been updated and will be in affect with all future submitted reports.

Previously, we were not completing this goal if you consumed a healthy amount of a nutrient but it was more than 15% of your goal. This has been changed to allow you to consume up to your upper limit of these nutrients.

I'm also having an issue with seeing others reports way out of date... for example, I'm seeing some calcampers reports from 11 hours ago, 38 days ago, 20 days ago, all in random order on my dashboard...?

Is this what you see when you first look at the page, or do you have to scroll down the page to start seeing the older out of order reports?

It's when I scroll down to see more reports... but they are still out of order date wise...

I noticed the improvements in several areas and I'm very excited that the public launch will be coming soon.  I mentioned Calorie Camp in a blog post recently, so I hope many of my friends will come and join in the fun:
