Anyone doing P90X?

Quote  |  Reply

So, I started it last May but only got a couple weeks in when my gram passed.

Gearing up to start again tonight as I think it will go well with my running!  I can't find it in the activity log so I don't quite know how to track my calories burned....

Wondering if anyone else out there is doing this or might start in the near future??

I'm finishing up my second week today. I love the program, though I can't quite do the diet plan cash wise. I can't afford the variety I want. I'm essentially doing paleo diet with some minor changes, and I feel great. Some days I don't feel like doing the videos, so I make sure I do them early (even if I'm kinda stomping as I push play) so I can't put it off later. I'm always proud of myself later for the work.

We do have a small group called p90x 2012, it's not very active, but we don't have many members. Feel free to join and we can support each other there.

I hope you enjoy the program!

I have the same problem with adding p90x workouts to this website as activity. I don't even track my activity anymore on here. I just track my food.

Question. Do you feel like the cardio for p90x is enough?

I  feel the need to add more cardio within the week. What do you do?

I'm doing classic. (In my most humble of opinions the lean is a bit misguided). The kenpo kicks my butt, Plyo (which can be used in place of cardioX) usually has me panting on the floor afterwards. Even yoga makes me sweat a bit. ^-^ I just add the videos to my life, if I feel like taking a walk, hike, or bike ride one day I will. Some days I'm completely sedentary other than the videos, it really depends on the day.

My fiance works out like a strong man competitor and they do experiments with new exercises on Sunday, so sometimes I end up with a double workout on Sunday or other days I get invited out. I love doing bench press, squats, and tire flips with them. Granted they go so much heavier than I can, but it's fun. I find if I think too much about it I would go crazy. Just do what you feel works and stick with it. Eat plenty, and eat good stuff.

As far as logging, most days are either weightlifting or calisthenics or a combination. I don't trust it to be accurate as far as burn rate, but it's good enough for me. If I tried to bog myself down worrying about every calorie in or out, I would never make it through the next 10 pounds let alone the full 65 I have ahead of me.

Cool - I'll certainly join the group active or not - a place to go!  I plan on incorporating the program into my 5K training.  I'm not doing the meal plan as it just doesn't work for the way I eat (primary vegan but no soy and no sugar).

Maybe I can find a way to add the training into activities as weight lifting or something, might not be just right but I do like to see the calories go "bye-bye"

Here-here!!

My wife and I are in our second week.  The nutrition part is the hardest part because I have been eating at a deficit for about 4 years losing weight.  Now I am trying to add muscle and knock off the last 10 lbs or so.  The first week I ate from the nutrition plan but I felt like crap.  Trying it a little different now.  Going 2300 cals with about 40% - Carbs, 35% - Protein, and 25% - Fat.  Hopefully that works.  Any thoughts on the nutrition part?

I haven't really looked into the nutrition part as I kinda ride a different train, and I have another 25 pounds to lose.  I think what you are doing makes sense.  The protein part is hardest for me as a veggie who doesn't eat soy.

My husband and I are starting Phase 2 next week--although we did Phase one a few extra weeks. We didn't want to go on until we could reasonably keep up with the first phase. My husband has lost weight and a good portion of his gut. I've lost 3 inches off my hips, 2 off my waist, and 2 off my love handles. I actually love my arms,  I can actually flex a little bicep now.

I'm going to start extra weight training this week--dead lifts, bench presses and such. I want to increase my strength and lose tighten up all over more. I'm going to add 2 cardio sessions of interval training as well since I've been seeing some good gains in my running and want to keep it up.

Nutrition-wise we've pretty much stuck to the plan. We down so much protein its ridiculous. We buy big packages of chicken breasts and beef and take turns cooking it all up, and we're big on protein shakes and bars. I must say I'm a big fan of fresh veggies now more than I ever have been.

Hi everyone, I bit off more than I cAn chew, but I went with the insanity program, from the makers of p90 x n so on, I track my daily workouts I type in 'insanity' doesn't show results till I hit enter, then up pops intense arobic, which it is definitely intense... I'm on day three n a little discouraged from my previous years of bad choices made so unfit im unable to do one pushup :(so when push up time comes I jog in spot or 'climb the rope' hopefully that will get me in the shape to be able many pushups n my goal is to look hot, I want to go to beach n have ppl look at me not cuz I'm loud but cuz I'm smoking n gonna get that way... It will be a few months. Good luck everyone :)

Yep. Hubby and I. Week 12 of Classic. We can almost see the light...

So I picked a bad week to start up P90X again!!!  I've been insanely busy this week and not getting home until 8ish each night.  I've managed to get my runs in but I haven't had the time to look for my P90X schedule!!  I did chest/back/abs and most of legs.  Have to find the box the schedule is in (just moved) and start in more ernst next week.  I remember yoga was a day four workout and I'll shoot for that tonight but it's gonna be another late one for me!

I am glad to know people are actually doing it and are seeing results!

The wife and I are starting week three tonight!  I hate it...but I love it!!!

I started p90x this week. It has been pretty intense, I am just glad my boyfriend is doing it with me, his support helps alot. But I am having trouble taking in my necessary amount of calories, I hope I get the hang of the routines. Any tips or support would be appreciated!

So WHEN does everyone fit P90X in?  This is what I am having the most difficult time with considering each is 1.5 hrs (about).  For me to get it done in the morning I would have to get up at 4AM to start exercise by 4:30.....and I am having a hard time finding more than 30min in the evening.

What do you do?

I do mine before I go to bed because that's really the only time I have to do it. It helps me sleep so much better after. Also, I am a college student and I don't work. Everybody has different schedules, but you just gotta make it work and fit it in there somewhere. it's hard for me to find the time some nights.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
