I found Slim  in  6  to be great for toning, it is not dreadfully hard to do. I did the 6 weeks and found my self toned!  I looked great, I did the Slim and Six pack daily too which made my abs look decent.  I have not done this in about 2 years now but would love to start it again, that is if i can get my girls to nap at the same time!  Anyone doing it, or about to start it?  I am ready for the 6 week challenge.  I am eager to start but fear not following through... I know it works!  I have seen results firsthand!  I need a buddy!

Hi again!  Finished first week of Slim6 with RIU!  Weighed in after Day 4 and looks like I lost 2.2 lbs.  Pretty encouraging.  It's easy to stick to this routine when I'm at home.  How to stick to this while on vacation??

Inmars and dietwarrior thanks for your encouragement!  dietwarrior, sounds like BIU is making a real difference...I'm excited to challenge it after next week.  I need to be creative to stick to this.

Hello!!

Hope everybody's doing great!  I should have started my second week of RIU yesterday but decided to take it off due to a pain in my leg, I might have pulled a muscle or something.  To make up for that every day this week I'll be doing the abs video as well as RIU and Slim and Limber.

Dietwarrior, are you finding BIU any easier than your first days with it? I haven't tried BIU yet, but I've watched the video (to mentally prepare myself) and looks very challenging to me.

Jennuwine congrats on your weight loss!

Let's keep the good work! We can do it!!!!

Hi guys, jenuine and inmars,

I am in my second week of BIU (today is week4/ day 4) and now I can do the whole routine w/o stopping several times to catch breath and recover burn. I am still alternating legs in leg floor section but I do two exercises in a row. I hope that in my week 5 I will do three exercises and then in week 6 all four.

I think the key is or better to say MUST that you do Slim & Limber after the workout. Not only it helps your flexibility but it recovers your muscles. Last night for the first time I was not lying down in bed and accessing all the muscles hurting (usually butt, hips, quads and back ...hahah all :) ) Last night I was fine, I felt a little tension in my quads and today morning I feel it around my knee.

Also I started to take joint performance supplements as my brother amateur bodybuilder freaked out that I am pushing myself through knee pain. He said it is a big no-no and you can really destroy your knees - so all: take supplements.  I am feeling so much better. It has been 7 days and it would be now only on 1 or 2 exercises that my knees are hurting and that is also more of a burn, not hurt as before. I think this will also get better with time and better endurance.

I don't know which version of BIU you guys have (there is earlier version that i have - v1 and last year's one - v2). My version is 'on crack', you would feel that you have it on fast forward if there were no sound. Apparently the new version is the same speed as previous RIU, just more exercises are added up in weights and/or floor section to add 10 more minutes.

I wonder if they did it because the body weight/weight exercises are more effective than the mighty cardio from BIU v1 or because it was hard for most people to do it. Maybe it was both. In any case, my body IS redefining. My muscles are there, nice and long, it is just that extra last weight that needs to go before I see the results of all the hard work.  I also have heard that all the weight goes down in week 5 and 6 so I am not measuring myself and will not until the end of the rotation.  I did however yesterday got into one skirt that I bought a size smaller and it was not funny tight around my hips exposing pockets of fat on my hips and tummy. It actually was smooth and I buttoned it up w/o problem, so... I am one size smaller!

I have been doing P90X for the last 2 months; however, I just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant. Has anyone heard if it's safe to do slim in 6 while pregnant? I want to stay active by doing workout video's but I also want to do what's best for the baby.

I know people say that walking is good exercise while pregnant. I am currently living in Costa Rica and there is so much exhaust from the cars that I don't think walking is the healthiest solution.

I recently found out I am pregnant again as well and hace been doing the ramp it up version of slim in 6. My doctor says keep it up, as long as it is something I have been doing and not to start a vigorous workout program while pregnant, but to just contineu wth more of the same.

Hope this helps.

I was hoping to lose more weight before I got pregnant again, but I know it isn't recommended to lose durring pregnancy. I just hope the 1st trimester helps me a little in my goal as it sometimes can :)

Hi everyone!  I am starting the Slim in 6 today and had a question.  Since you are supposed to do SI6 at least 6 days a week can you still weight train your legs two days a week?  Can I do SI^ in the morning and weight train in the afternoon?  Good luck to everyone.

Hi everyone.  I was wondering what you do after you complete the 6 weeks of Slim in 6?  Thanks.

Anne

I just got my Slim in Six dvd in the mail yesterday but I got it off ebay and I dont have a guidebook. From what I have read online you do the Start it Up for week one ( 6 days) rest of the 7th. Weeks 2-3 you do Burn it Up, 6 days, rest of the 7th. And Ramp it Up weeks 4-6, 6 days rest on the 7th. I was reading something on the previous page about workouts and then doing the dvd in the evening or something like that. I am confused. Can someone set me right please?

Hi, you should move with your speed, meaning when you can do the routine with ease.

I did 2 days of Start it Up, than the remainder of the first two weeks Ramp It Up and than 4 weeks of Burn It Up (this one is the hardest and you lose the most).

Cheers!

I also just finished SI6 and am now taking a week off after which I will go for Slim Series - Slim Training. Some people choose to repeat SI6 from Ramp It Up, but I just did BIU for 4 weeks and need a rest from that routine.

I also have Keep It Up which is good for continuing and it is way more fun than BIU (only 20 min of that military cardio!), so that is also a possiblity.

Hope this helps.

You can definatelly do that. If you need to lose lots of weight, I would recommend on the empty stomach 20 min of weight training, followed up with SI6. That way, your results will be much faster.

I don't think you should do strength training on an empty stomach, because you don't burn a lot of fat during strength training. The real burn from strength training comes from your metabolism burning throughout the rest of the day. Plus, you won't be able to lift as heavy on an empty stomach.

Cardio is okay to do on an empty stomach, especially if you do a slower rate cardio, because it will burn through your carb stores and then fat.

I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes, but this is what I've read from fitness books and the Si6 manual also suggests that you do your cardio in the morning on an empty stomach and do your strength training after you're fed.

My SI6 should be arriving Sept. 21.  Can't wait!  Dietwarrior, please let us know how the Slim Series is going.  Thanks!

Actually, you are incorrect. What Strenght training does is that it depletes glycogen while building muscle so fat cells are released during that process. However that weight training has to be intense (you will break a sweat). Then you follow it with the steady rate cardio to eliminate released fat cells.

My brother is a bodybuilder so I get updated on the latest in what to do. I tried this and it is miraculous.

HI! Not sure if anyone is still using this thread, but I just started slim in 6 last monday. Slipped up this weekend, so I started SIU again today. I did break my own rule on Thursday and weighed, as I said i would just weigh on Mondays. BUT I am glad I did. On Thursday my total weight loss was 6 lbs!! My husbands birthday was this weekend so we went out to eat Friday AND Saturday and I couldn't help myself haha So now my total loss for the week is 4lbs, which I am still excited about.  Not doing a "diet" really, just cutting down on my portion sizes, and actually just eating when I am hungry, not just "grazing" on the couch. For me, a diet doesn't work. It just makes me feel like I am missing out on food, which in turn makes me want those things even more! I have substituted cucumber slices for chips when I am watching my shows.  Also, WATER WATER WATER!!! I know you hear it all of the time, but it really does help! I go through at least 2 bottles per meal, and it fills you up.  I have started this program because we are going to the beach for Christmas this year. I was getting out my suits in preparation , and realized NONE of them fit anymore... That was it... My current weight is 184lbs and i am 5'7''. My ultimate goal is to be 155. Here's to a good start!!!!

I also started on November 22, of course I missed yesterday, but plan on going home and doing SIU.  I completed SI6 over the summer and continued for another 6 weeks doing Keep It Up and some other videos from the Slim Series--then I got married, the dog broke his leg, I went on a honeymoon and was generally slacking.  I hate it too because I was really looking and feeling good and it is soooo hard to start back.

I have never posted but read the thread often...I too am going to the beach at Christmas and I want my toned body back rather than the one I currently have.  I thought perhaps actually writing would be the motivation I need to workout instead of eat out!

Good luck!

hi guys..im planning to start SIU tomorrow..unfortunately i have all the DVDS but no nutrition guide or any diet plan? can anyone please help me out..??Frown like maybe email me the diet plan? i have to loose around 20 pounds to get back to my old weight?

You really don't need a special diet plan - eat healthy, portion control, cut out the sweets and most of the fats.

If you must have the diet plan or help with it, go to Beachbody dot com. there are forums there also. that is where I bought my Slim in 6 - they have it all.

HI everyone!

Hi everyone!

I know its been a lot of time since some one wrote here, but I'm doing Slim in 6 and I would like to have a buddy to stick with.

I'm currently on my Week 1 day 6 of Slim in 6. I've been doing Start It up and this morning when I weighted myself I found that I was lost 2 lbs!! When I started the program my weight was 141 lbs and today is 138, so I'm very happy.

I've been eating clean with a diet of 1500 calories more or less.

We can do this!

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
