Sounds like you've got the right attitude Smile Congrats on making it all the way through 30 Day Shred, too!  I used it as part of my exercise rotation before I got ChaLEAN, but used all the levels alongside each other, as doing the same thing every day was too punishing for me.  I hope you enjoy ChaLEAN as much as I have been so far Wink  I'll let you know how Push is when I get there in two weeks!

I've been having so much fun so far that I was a little dismayed today when I found myself dying half way through Burn Intervals... I still gave it my all, and shouted out "I'm not tired, I can do this" when Chalene told me to, but boy on some of those exercises I just couldn't seem to make myself move fast enough Embarassed Oh well, I know I still got a great workout, and next week I'll do better!

18/90 days done!

Yeah, for 30 Day Shred I also didn't follow the 10 days Level 1, 10 days Level 2, 10 Level 3.   I did just 5 days L1, 5 days L2, 5 days L3, then L1/L2/L3 in rotation for the next 15 days.  I also didn't do it 30 days strictly back-to-back, but occasionally tossed in a different workout or a rest day.  I think that worked better for me physically and kept me from getting bored.

Finished the first week of CE!  Now that I know I've been able to stick to a shorter program with great results, I feel like I can really do this without giving up in the middle.  I need to shuffle around my rest days from time to time within the 7 day period, but I'm going to try to keep everything going without adding extra rest days or ever messing with the Burn Circuit days.

I'm curious to know how Push varies from Burn.  Good job on sticking with it this far!

Thanks for the support! I was pretty stoked yesterday doing Burn Circuit 1 for the LAST TIME (in this rotation)! I haven't had any issues with waning motivation (yet) at all, hopefully that won't change after I have my Burn Phase results ;)

That sounds like a pretty sensible approach to 30 DS. Before I got ChaLEAN I was pretty much doing Lvl 1, Lvl 2, Lvl 3, Rest Day, TBL wii, wii Fit, TBL wii, Rest Day, repeat. It was fun, and I was making some progress, but I'm a lot happier in a better structured program where the workouts are designed to work together (not thrown together for the fun of it ;) ).

I'm so stoked for Push, and I'll definitely share my impressions when I get there! Day 23/90!

So what are the weights that you use? How often do you up them and the most people use for it?

I use powerblocks...  On the program, you weight train three days each week, doing various weight exercises, often combined with lower body exercises (squats/lunges) for 12 reps, lifting heavy enough to reach failure.  Depending on the exercise, I lift between 5 and 25lbs.

Time flies when you're having fun, eh?  Today was day 30 for me!  I re-did all my measurements and pictures, and while I would have liked more, I'm happy with the changes so far!

Weight

155 (-4lbs)

Measurements

Chest: 37" (-2")

Bicep: 11" (-.5")

Waist: 35.5" (-.5")

Hips: 39.5" (-.5")

Abductors: 23" (-1.5")

Thighs: 22" (-0")

Aaaand, I totally forgot to do my body fat, so I'll have to check on it tomorrow...  I'm really happy with the changes (though I would have liked to have seen more inches off in the hips/waist), and can't wait to see what the Push Phase brings!  All accounts I've seen say the biggest changes come in Lean, but I'm certainly pleased so far Smile

awesome job - not so chubby anymore, chickie!

Day 15 for me and feeling great!  This is an awesome program.

Thanks so much jds17! I'm loving how strong I feel :)

I'm glad you're sticking with it! How's your schedule flex treating you? Noticing any changes yet?

I'm on day 37 and still enjoying every minute... I'm a little sore today, but Chalene told me I would be, seeing as it's the start of a new phase, and my body has to adjust all over again!

In Push Phase, the focus is all on gaining strength by lifting as heavy as possible for 6-8 reps. Since you're going sooooo heavy, all the exercises are single exercises (ie Weighted Bowler's Lunge instead of Bowler's Lunge with Single arm row or what have you) and you lift, lift, lift! I'm really having fun with it so far (though I'm definitely looking forward to the soreness passing...) and for some of the lower body exercises, at least, I'm lifting as heavy as Chalene! It's a little exciting ;)

Keep up the great work! Hope to hear how you did on the 30th :)

I just finished my 3rd week and I'm seeing noticeable differences in my body and how my clothes are fitting (or not fitting -- I'm getting things taken in and buying smaller stuff!).  My weight is barely creeping down, but I'd much rather look smaller and fitter and hotter than look almost the same and weigh less, so c'est la vie.  I still have a lot of body fat to lose, but my arms and legs are looking so much slimmer and more shapely.  I've gotten more compliments lately than when I was losing weight more quickly before this program.

I can't believe I'm starting the last week of Month 1 and will be on to Push soon!  Good to hear it switches things up for your body so much.  That's awesome that you're lifting as heavy as she is.  I've already noticed that the cardio has gotten easier for me -- at the beginning I was DYING and wheezing, now I'm going full blast.  I feel SO GREAT.

hey! I just finished week 2 of chalean xtreme and I love love love love it!!  I do include at least 20-40 mins of cardio each day I do the videos but this is work out is beyond any other work out I have ever tried even turbo jam which I love as well! I am seeing amazing results and I feel so strong!  I used the bands for about three days and then invested in some weights.  Walmart has some good $20 sets that adjust from 5, 15, to 20 pounds and then I purchased separate 2.5 iron weights for more adjustments which make my workouts better and my entire weight set costing about 35 bucks!  I love lifting weights hehe I can't wait to get to see what the other phases have to offer.  Do you two include any other workouts besides extreme videos?

I definitely include extra workouts Smile  I try to do 1h of light cardio on workout days (step or walking) and 30 min to 1h moderate to heavy cardio on rest days (rollerblading, DDR, or whatever I feel like doing at the gym).  I also do Ab Burner twice a week because my ab strength is pitiful at best Embarassed It's improved somewhat since I started, but still needs a lot of work.

Way to go on finishing week 3 jds17!  I can't wait to hear what your progress has been like Wink I totally feel you on the cardio, though some days I have a tendency to push extra hard to compensate, and end up killing myself by the end.  I always make sure I give everything I have!

I love Chalene!!  She is the best motivator.  My mom gave me turbo jam about a year ago and I love it!  When I saw Chalean Xtreme on tv I had to have it.  I was so excited when I was watching the infomercial lol I have got a friend of mine hooked on her as well.  She didn't believe me that weight training can feel so good.  Now we both get really excited and pump each other up before our workouts.  We have been pushing out selves with our cardio and have been left exhausted but it feels so good!  For my cardio I include jullian michaels 30 day shred work outs, turbo jam, walking/jogging and bike riding.  I have a bright orange beach cruiser that is beautiful and fun to ride but also a killer leg work out especially when trying to keep up with bikes with gears.  I have been slacking on ab work outs which I need to start adding more ab days into my work out because I need it! I am so excited about starting the push phase I can't wait!

Hi, I am in the push circuit of this program. Is anyone else like me and not losing weight but only inches?  I am only 2 pounds from goal weight, I am thinking of adding in more cardio. From the above post that is what it looks like people are doing? Any advice would be appreciated. Oh and btw I am jealous of your beach cruiser.

Hey there,

I will be in the push phase in one week and I can't wait!  I do alot more cardio then the videos and what the calender plan suggests.  My weight hasn't really changed much but I have went down about 1-2 dress sizes and my arms are getting buff and my thighs as well. But not much is changing on the scale but I am ok with that as long as inches and fat is gone.  Everyone needs a beach cruiser!  hehe I get compliments all the time while I am riding...I am planning on getting a bell so every time I hear "Nice bike!" I can give my bell a little ring and say thank you hehe so fun!

Thanks I am adding jump roping and rowing machine hopefully that will kick it up a notch or two. My mountain bike has seen its better days I drool all over the beach cruisers at the store LOL!

Hi cynscott!  I'm over half way through Push, and even though I have a lot of weight left to lose, I've only lost 6 lbs since I started ChaLEAN.  On the other hand, I've gained one heck of a lot of muscle and lost a fair amount of fat, so I really don't mind!  Also, from almost all of the reviews I've read, the best changes and most weight loss come in the Lean Phase (I can't wait to find out first hand!)

Incase I haven't mentioned this yet - Push Phase rocks!  I'm getting so strong, I'm actually lifting HEAVIER than Chalene on some of the lower body exercises now!  On a few, the only thing keeping me from going heavier is that my hands stop liking me when I go over 30lbs each...  I can do it close to the beginning of the circuit, but closer to the end it's a no-go Wink  My upper body still has a ways to go, but I'm getting better there, too.  Oh, and Extreme Abs is rediculous hard Embarassed As I've mentioned before my abs are shameful-weak... I'm able to do everything, but definitely have to skip a few reps here and there.  I'll certainly be keeping up my Saturday Ab Burner to see if I can get myself a little farther along.

Keep up the great work everyone!!  Laughing

Wow you go girl 30lbs!! I can only do 25lbs for the legs and it feels as though my arms might snap off LOL!  Sounds as though we are about neck to neck, I am 10 days away from lean circuit (not counting off days). Congrats on your new bod I am truly enjoying mine as well.. Make sure you post your reviews on the Lean circuit!!

Thanks cyn!  I actually ramped it up to 35lbs for squats in Push 1 this week (70lbsOMG) and was a little worried about my hands, but I did it! Go heavy or go home! Smile  It's funny, because I was worried I had spent a lot of money for nothing when I bought my 5-55lb Powerblocks (as the 5-25 is a lot less expensive) but now that I'm over 25 for most of the lower body exercises, I feel a lot more justified Smile

I just have Burn Intervals and Extreme Abs tonight, Push 3 tomorrow, Burn It Off and Recharge Sunday, Rest, Repeat and RESULTS before moving on to Lean!  Five days!  I really can't wait to see how I did this phase...  I have to confess a cheated a little and checked my waist measurement the other day (after being mystified when I found myself buying SIZE 8 pants)and I must say I'm REALLY excited!  Woo-hoo! Laughing

Just popping in to say, still loving this!  I just finished Day 41 and I kind of can't believe I've been sticking to the program so well.  Love Chalene, she's so motivational without being annoying.  Keep it up, everyone!

(I have such a love-hate relationship with the Burn Intervals + Abs days... anyone else?  Partway into the Burn Intervals, I think it's crazy to think I'll make it to the end, and why did this insane woman decide to tack the extra abs onto the longest workout in the series?!  Then I somehow manage to finish hard and still have enough left in me to do the abs and feel FANTASTIC when I'm finished.  It's such a feeling of accomplishment, and one hell of a calorie burn.  I used to have the weakest core ever, and now my stomach is STRONG.)

How were your 30 day results, jds17?  How are you liking Push Phase?

I completely agree on the Burn/Abs day, though.  What I find helps (if only a little) is doing the ab workout first.  I always sweat to death during Burn Intervals, and hate being down on the mat all sweaty, doing crunches.  I must say Extreme Abs is still rediculous hard, but I did better the second time around, and I'm actually starting to like that "omigod my abs can't take any more" feeling.

I get to do my results TUESDAY and Wednesday is the start of Lean Phase for me!  The 58 days (so far) have FLOWN!  I can't wait to see how I did!
