So its come to that time of year again soon we will be jumping back on the exercise wagon! Well this year I'm helping my mum to lose weight and we are going to start exercising together! She is not confident enough to go out and exercise yet so any recommendations for DVDs? I need something that we can both do at our different exercise levels and no yoga or pilates please! :)
PS. Happy christmas everyone!
I wasn't a big exercise DVD user but recently purchased the 30 day Shred and the Biggest Loser Cardio Max, looking for something to do on days I can't get to the gym and I love them both. They both have different levels of workouts and even the easiest levels have modified moves for people just starting out. Another nice thing about the Biggest Loser DVD is that they do not use fitness models, it is actually participants from the show, and it was filmed before they had lost all their weight, so it makes me feel that if they can do it so can I.
I use Leslie Sasone's Walk At Home program. I'm a beginner but there are steps up (ie. jog instead of walk, etc.) for advanced walkers to substitute.
Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred! She's one of the trainers from Biggest Loser. It's intense, but you can also modify most of the moves, so it would be something you could both do :)
any jillian michaels, the biggest loser dvd's, & jackie warner are all my favorites.
Great Question! Answers too. Anyone know of any good dance workout DVDs (choreographed) as well?
Island Girl workouts are great for beginners. You learn a beautiful Hawaiian dance while increasing your heart rate and toning (lunges). It's easy on the joints and was a pretty effective way for me to get back into shape.
Though, my female friends have all made fun of me, the guys on the dance floor really love some of the moves I've learned to incorporate while dancing. The ami, ka'o and kaholo get them every time.
