Hey, was searching for it everywhere and couldn't find - how many calories we burn doing 15min of Bodyflex? Does anybody know? Thank you :)

P.s. in a book they say its 3500/hour... is that possible???

Define Body Flex - there's an elliptical brand name which could be a decent workout, and an infomercial product that is absolutely horrendously bad :)

http://www.bodyflex.com/ here it is. AEROBIC BREATHING EXERCISE - means increasing oxygen to the body through breathing. Exercise and movement are tools to get us to change our breathing from a shallow type of breathing to deep diaphragmatic breathing. We want to increase the oxygen levels to the blood. Oxygen is a natural fat burner. I've been doing it since ever and it's amazing. Just wanted to know more technical info about it :)

It's seated, looks like some resistance exercise and deep breathing, am I right?

3500 calories an hour is unfortunately absolute bull, sorry.  You can burn about 1000 calories an hour busting your ass on a high intensity elliptical program, you aren't going to burn 3500 in an hour sitting down.  Resistance exercise is generally something like 300-400 calories an hour doing weights (more intense than the bands), so I'd say you're probably looking at 75 calories in fifteen minutes at most?

Deep breathing will help you burn calories MORE EFFICIENTLY, but not burn more overall.  I work in health care, and I've studied human physiology, and oxygen alone won't cause you to lose weight.  You need to get your muscles moving to burn the calories.

That said, diaphragmatic breathing is something we should ALL practice - while we're getting real exercise.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's the 1600 calorie a day diet that causes one to lose weight, and a combo of that and the resistance exercise that causes one to lose inches.  That's not terrible as programs go, I suppose - but the 3500 calories an hour is still absurd.

Yup, that's the informercial product I was thinking of, and yep, it's horrendously bad.

 Exercise causes increased oxygen need which causes harder breathing. It does not follow that you can reverse the process - i.e. breathe harder to increase oxygen uptake and usage and thus burn more calories. 

 I'll step out on that limb too and attribute just about all of the results to the diet - light resistance training with flex bands will probably not cross the minimum essential strain threshold for muscle fiber remodeling in anyone but a bedridden beginner and consequently the training effect will be close to non-existent beyond the first few workouts.
