Sorry, I have no @ss, so this isn't a problem for me.  But I appreciate the mental pictures. Smile

Anytime, Clint, anytime ;)

omg i had this happen to me too!  and yeah, it happened during my training last year but somehow I forgot until yesterday.  ouch!  body glide = bff when training.

Ok, I've got to ask... Where exactly is this chafing?  Are we talking cheek to cheek rubbing?

Inquiring (yet cautious) minds need to know...  I am in the process of increasing my running distances, so this is possibly relevant to me. :)

haha I'm glad to know I'm not the only one

Thanks for the info.  Bummer about the chafing (tee hee).  I didn't think women typically had a problem with nipples chafing, since things are usually pretty tightly wrapped up?  That was more of a guy thing?

Ah, I remember one day, wearing a kilt to go out golfing (and going traditional underneath).  Hot day, walking the course.  Worst chafing I've ever experienced...  Not eager to repeat that scenario ever.

jcl76- mine seems to be the same area.  I also get it on my armpits, but no other areas!  Well, actually this morning at the gym I did 4 miles adn I wore these really crappy shorts with huge seams on the inner thigh and it was just starting to chafe as I finished up.

pbear999- just invest in a bodyglide stick and you will be fine as you up those distances!

My super thin boyfriend gets chafing between his cheeks as well and my dad (an ex-marathon runner) has actually suggested baby powder. Does anyone have any ideas on the baby powder vs. body glide argument?

It has happened to me too... I don't know if its the pants or what but it does happen sometimes. I honestly free butt it - meaning workout pants with no underwear and it seems to help.

My dad calls it crack wack!  It can happen with increased humidity!  Make sure you dry off well and definitely body glide or a little vaseline can help.  My husband had his first experience with it this weekend.  It was his 18 mile training run that got him!  A little baby powder after might not hurt. GOOD LUCK!! It usually clears up pretty quickly!

Crack Wack? lol, OMG, now that's a great name..kudos to your dad! I use a little   A & D ointment...works for me with my "Crack-Wack" problem!

I'm a bigger fan of glide vs. powder, because while the powder does decrease the moisture for a while, it can gunk up and turn into a nasty paste ... sorry to get so descriptive ... while glide just keeps on gliding. Body glide is def. my favorite running product - I use it on feet, butt and inner thighs, and sometimes even on my arms when my ipod strap starts to rub. This past weekend, I went to Cali for the Disneyland half marathon, and was saddened to find the day before that my last bit of glide had cracked and broken in the heat in my backpack. But all was well - luckily one of the vendors at the Expo was selling it! 13.1 miles chafe free, and a new PR!

body glide stuff

I MUST know!! What is this BODY GLIDE?!?! And WHERE can I get me some?!?!?! I get THE WORST chaffing in my inner thighs. My hub tells me I'm gonna start a forest fire down there. UGH!!! Embarassed

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search- alias%3Daps&field-keywords=body+glide

You can also find it a running equipment places.  It's basically lube in a stick form.  Never tried it myself, as I haven't run far enough to need it.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
