How many CHEAT DAYS do you allow yourself in a week?

Quote  |  Reply

I joined CC 2 months ago at 140 lbs. I'm (very) fortunately losing 1.5 lbs per week with combined calorie counting, 45 min walk each day and 50 min circuit training every other day.

I'm down to 125 lbs this morning and really, really close to my goal weight so I'm very excited. I'm looking forward to having a cheat day soon! How many days do you give yourself a week when you're in maintenance mode? Roughly how many calories are we talking about per day?

Everyone's calorie allotment would be different so it's impossible to say.

In the Female Body Breakthrough book she says it's important to stay compliant in your eating 90% of the time if you are aiming for weight loss.  So what ever your plan is as long as you stick with it 90% you should stay on target.

I usually don't count calories on weekends at all.  I just try to eat good whole foods and then I'm usually good.  Also eating extra calories once a week or so is actually a good thing, it helps keep your body out of starvation mode.  Also treating yourself to that piece of candy or cake or other treat helps your mind not feel deprived of something special and helps keep you on track and the ability to continue.

I try to do zero cheat days. I do one cheat meal or dessert instead. My high calorie day tends to be about 300-400 over my maintenance calories (about 2200 calories total). I can maintain my weight at 1800 calories a day.

About 36 hours and on weekends.

I would not call them cheat days: Once or twice a week I include food items which are usually not part of my daily meal plan: some ice cream or chocolate or pizza or whatever I fancy. I do prepare my meal plan for the next day and at that stage I make sure to stay within my daily calorie limit. In case we are planning to have a meal at a restaurant, I will add some more exercise in the morning to balance out my C C analysis for the day. I have started my healthier life style nearly one year ago and so far this has worked for me.

I never really allow myself an entire cheat "day" - unless it's my birthday - but rather I have a treat like 2x a week or so that fits into my calorie budget. I may also have a cheat meal that brings me over my maintenance calories for one day (two max). I would go way overboard if I did an entire cheat day, lol.

Thanks, everyone.

I give my self 2 Saturday and sunday.. I live with my parents at the moment and so its easier if i give my self thoese days and its working for me.

i started at about 155, im down to 136, i am hoping to get down to 133, but im not pushing myself as hard as i was. I jog at least 20 minutes a day, usually 35 minutes though(about 1.5 miles or more)and i work 6 days a week, hardly have the chance to stop moving.

i dont hold myself back from having a little treat here and there. I just know not to over do it. I feel bad if i look at eating out of routine as a cheat day. I dont want to cheat myself, I want to treat myself.

to: carlymariex-- exactly how i feel, totally would over do it on the calories if i was to cheat myself all day.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
