Elbow locking up during assisted pull-ups

Quote  |  Reply

Recently while doing assisted pull-ups, my right elbow has been locking up after I lower myself down. It's just a little painful, and I have to twist my arm slightly while I'm hanging for it to feel like it pops back in, and then I can pull myself back up. Has anyone else experienced this or know what could be the reason for it? It was happening during every pull-up today (until I gave up since it was starting to hurt more)

Try neutral grip pullups (AKA hammer grip pullups). They are the easiest on your elbow.

That is not normal.

Change your grip or the width of your arms.
