Fun Situps
- Instructions:
First turn on your fav fast or medium fast songs
Sit on the floor with somthing padded under your butt. (This is to make it more comfortable if you have hardwood floors)
Put your legs straight out in front of you while sitting up straight (back up). Now place your feet under a couch or a chair to prevent your body from falling backwards.
Start to rock back and forth (towards couch, back towards floor) as far back as you can but staying comfortable. Don't lean to far back as it will give you a sore back later on.
Hold your stomach muscles in while rocking back and forth to the music. Also hold your legs tight together under the couch for balence. Make sure your back is still straight and you are sitting tall.
Do this for 5 min the first day or aprox 1 song and slowly build it up. It will take time to get to 30 minutes but soon you will love it so much you won't want to stop!
Rock to the beat of the music. Sing your heart out and move your arms around if you want. It's funner that way!
Thats all you need to do. Surprisingly. I started this when I was 16. I enjoyed it so much that I continued. I started off with a jiggly belly and lost almost all of it from doing this along with my walk away the pounds video and my Gazelle.It works great for your abs and legs.

how far do you go down, are you rocking lonh=g rocks or short quick rocks?

Yes, rock to the beat. Either way. I do short rocks usually at the end. The longer rocks are harder to do. Also the slower the song the harder it is. I forgot to mention that. Oh trust me. You will feel it in your stomach in a day or two. ;):)
Thanks for your great thread! I am anxious to try this and I think I can get my step daughter to do them with me. She's 8 and perfectly healthy but (a) exercise is good for you and (b) it's more fun to do with someone. Thanks for this great tip. I hope to report results soon!!
Edit: The kids do enjoy this too if you can't find a workout buddy! Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Goodbye, Earl were perfect "starter" songs. When I got tired of sit up, just stretched up over my head from side to side. Better than nothing. Also, used 2 pound hand weights to increase the burn!
