Hands up if your muscles hurt most the second day after a workout?

Quote  |  Reply
Morning All,

Hands up if like me, your muscles hurt more on the second day after a good workout??

My friends all ache 24 hrs after training, whereas I tend to feel the "worked muscle" group 48 hours after (especially abs)

am I getting enough Kryptonite ;-)

or do any of you guys get the same??

thanks for any input...

you work out hard dont you!  I do like that with my abs too.   drink lots of water! and make sure to rest those muscles the day after working them out.
me 2 rhodie, feel more @48 than 24
*bill raises his hand in the back of the class*

When I work a new muscle group for a first time, or first time in a while, the first day after they are usually sore, but the second is when they get stiff and sore. Second day is most deffinatly the worst.
Hmm.. for me, it's usually 24 hours after. I remember the day after I slappercized. GOD, my abs ached!!!
slappy is back to slappercizing!
The world is back on track!
I wish my muscles hurt...I kill myself at the gym and the next day I feel nothing.  I pushed myself HARD lifting yesterday...and today I feel nothing.  I guess I'm just a stud! X-P
Actually, that's usually what happens to me, finewine...

I don't know if that doesn't mean we're actually not working hard enough, I know I do 3 sets of as many exercises as my muscles can succesfully finish, so I don't THINK so and I'm DEFINATELY gaining muscle mass, but... *shrug*

I gotta get a Gym Membership and find a personal trainer appointment so someone can help me keep pushing myself in a healthy manner.
Thanks all for sharing,

My lats are just starting to feel a little sore after yesterday's blast...dread to think what they will be like in the morning!

Oh, and I'll have a gallon of whatever finewine is drinking because it sounds totally pain free and "Blissful" ;-)

stay sharp

*Hands in the air like you just don't care*

You're suffering from delayed onset muscle soreness (aka DOMS), and it's very normal if you're training hard.  I know if I am starting to feel sore by the end of the first day (after a hard workout), I'm going to be VERY sore the next day if I don't take a little Vitamin I (ibuprofin) and drink plenty of water throughout the day.  I will still be sore the next day, but it's manageable.
Me! I remember I did an ab class once (back before this whole diet thing). I was fine the day after, but the second morning I couldn't get out of bed! I had to roll onto the floor and then push myself up to hands and knees! Oh, I was so sore!

Lately I've been feeling sore same day and next day, but I work out almost every day so it can be hard to tell!
im 48 hours after as well..  its scares me when after 24 hours it hurts, b/c i know itll be worse the next day...

owie.  like today... my quads are killing me... ahhh
I was reading somewhere that most people hurt the most 48-72 hours after a workout.

I did some killer abs on Saturday night, and I can feel them today, definitely.
Oh god, Im sitting in this boat with you right now, the day after they hurt but the next day oooooohhhboy I suffered.. And Im still suffereing today...
